I cant see the point in a 4 cylinder mustang. I just cant. Its not a Mustang without a v8. The 4 cylinder is hardly a ford fiesta to run.
It's certainly nothing new, the Mustang has been available with the 2.3 4 pot since 1974. I don't know the numbers but I wonder if 4 and 6 cylinder car production exceeds the V8s.

My point is that all those on PH talking about the 4 cylinder cars as if they are some kind of heresy should probably appraise themselves of the Mustang's history.
I hired a Chevy Camero while in Vegas. It was appalling in every conceivable way. The handling was akin to a wheelbarrow, I cooked the brakes within minutes of hitting the Sierra Navada mountains, my conclusion was that the designer had passed his/her ideas over the phone to a five year old.
The next time I was there I chose the pony car. It was great, albeit with the 2.3 ltr eco boost donkey. My only fault with it was the lethargic auto box, which worked on a geological timescale, I'm sure the manual will be great. Awesome looks, credible performance and buckets of cred compared to the st Chevy. Cheap as chips in the USA, Buy a used M3 instead.

I might (might) still eat my words tomorrow, but it looks like Ford are all set to announce the engine upgrades for the 2018 (it should match the already announced F150 Coyote upgrades).
- It will still be a 5.0 V8
- It will have Direct Injection, but will retain secondary Port Injection to clean the valves and prevent carbon build up.
- 10 speed auto
- Magnaride option
- Carbon package option
Power gains of somewhere between 25-60bhp depending on Ford strategy.
Who would have guessed
Any idea of when the 2018 model will actually be released? - It will still be a 5.0 V8

I ordered my GT in July 2016, and it is currently sailing from Baltimore, which is due to arrive in Zebbrugge on Thursday.
Unfortunately, I'm told that it won't be available to collect from the dealer for another 5-6 weeks.

Yup USDM models should be in the dealers Q3 this year.
How much longer they'll take to get to the UK..... Who knows.
And don't be surprised if all the upgrades don't make the RHD transition.
any reason they wouldn't make it to RHD?How much longer they'll take to get to the UK..... Who knows.
And don't be surprised if all the upgrades don't make the RHD transition.
Same reason as EU and UK cars don't get the adaptive cruise control and memory seats etc.
I think my point is I can't see a reason why we would get the good stuff - the new engine set up, the dampers and the gearbox...you know, the important stuff
