The speed activated locking doesn't deadlock the doors unlike locking it from the outside with the remote. So you'll be able to get out but you might have to pull the interior handle twice (this is an anti-hijack feature).

Access to an OBD reader, or just stick 12v into the cigarette lighter via whatever method you like and turn the ignition on.

That is some way reassuring. I'm about to work out what the merc does in a similar situation. Not that I'm paranoid you understand.

Bonnet release exactly the same on my mk3 Seat Leon. Be interested to know if it's the same on the MQB Golf and A3.
