I think it's worse than that - I'm fairly sure in the Ncap test that the car twisted so badly that the dummy's head missed the airbag.
Had a VTR at 17, great car then but I guess I would be less impressed if I drove one today.

Always remember being told by a recovery driver they were known as Paxo's as when you hit something you were stuffed.

^^Years ago I reversed into my neighbours Saxo in a Granada, the result? Saxo was off to the bodyshop to have the completely stuffed rear quarter sorted out and the Grandad needed a bit of t-cut around the rear light. My problem with the Saxo though is that most around here were/are driven right on your rear bumper by some baseball cap wearing young man who thinks he's the Stig (he's not) and are fitted with exhausts that look like paint cans handing under the bumper and stupid body kits and stupid wheels. This has completely ruined the image of the Saxo for me, not to mention my hatred of French cars....
.......And no, I didn't reverse into it on purpose...

I've never owned one of these but had a couple of 306s in my youth. Both reliable never had any issues with french build quality. Probably would have kept the GTI6 for many more years but it ended up on it's roof.

Had a high mileage one in the mid 2000s,great fun apart from needing tiny dwarf feet as the pedals were so close together. Ended up with a pair of driving shoes permanently in the car like my mum, couldn't drive it safely to work in standard work-type office shoes.

That's funny. As long as you're not in it at the time. That's not funny at all. Or if you drive one at the moment, then it's not very funny, it's just worrying.

I think it's funny because I don't. Still think it's a nice little car, but you would worry about the spaghetti structure.
I'm pretty sure I read a warning on Parker's about safety in the A4 mk1 factsheet about it having been found to be severely lacking in any form of protection if t boned.
I was about to make an offer on one and didn't because of it.

It's only got an MoT until the end of October, but if the seller is telling the truth in the advert it shouldn't be a problem.

I'm not sure what a prospective insurer would like the Nitrous, but it looks like a lot of fun for a bag of sand. It looks like the sort of car you could have a lot of fun with on track days, but I'd want to put a cage in it and a few other safety mods. Those would push the total cost up a bit, but not disastrously so.

This shed is not really the sort of thing I'd want as a daily driver, it looks like the sort of thing that the Max Power set drive with a subwoofer in the boot.

So Mr Shed, 6 out of 10. Must try harder.

Death trap. Only one airbag in the steering wheel !

In this example that twist has become a safety feature, as it means the driver's head misses the metal racing wheel. It probably smashes through the side glass instead, but never mind.

Probably wise. I vividly remember seeing a sporty AX run into the back of a Volvo estate. Not massively high speed at all. But you could have swept up most of the AX with a dustpan and brush. Honestly, there was little chance it could ever be fixed. The Volvo? Well it didn't actually look as if anything had hit it. (To make matters worse, if it was a turbo Volvo it'd have beaten the Citroen to death in a straight line as well.)

Bit of a thread revival here but I am hoping someone can help, I have just swapped the rear axle on mine and I can’t work out how the brake lines are fixed into position on the right hand side. Does anyone have any pictures or a diagram, Hayes manual and a net search not bearing any fruit
