I hope not. I always do a bit extra just go get to the nearest £. I've got fuel pump OCD.
But do you go for 30 litres or £30? Eh? EH?
£30 or 30 litres! Must be a tiny tank.
biggrin

I've always wondered this so hopefully someone knows the answer. What is it that make the pump click off?

My car will happily take another gallon after the things started clicking; for those who say its pointless; an extra 50 miles without stopping is a big plus. Do not do it on extremely hot days however, as the fuel will expand out the top (creating a big, extremely flammable mess).

I also don't do it if I'm doing short journeys (rather than burning a gallon or so off straight away) - for that same reason. What's the point in having a 60L fuel tank if you can only put 55L in it?

If you drive a diesel, over-filling is mandatory: without diesel spills we'd be deprived of one of the few remaining effects of Darwinism left open to further enhance the human gene pool.

I always stop at .73 so I know all the transactions on my credit card are legit boxedin
So if you accidentally get to .74, do you put another 99 pence worth in?
