We have a PS4 with the latest games, and they look stunning, no doubt. I played the new Tomb Raider game, but there is a distinct lack of err, tomb raiding, and it focuses mainly on combat, shooting bad guys, and puzzles seem simplified compared to the past games. However, we also have our 1TB PS3 set up too, as it contains all of my old favourite PS1 games.

The thing is, over the past few weeks, I have become hooked on playing the original Tomb Raider and Tomb Raider 4 (My God, TR4 is hard with the most abstract puzzles, and so long - but great VFM!) Also, the original Resident Evil games up to and including Code Veronica (as well as the HD version of the excellent original)

And now, I have become hooked on the original Silent Hill game! The graphic look incredibly dated, but cripes, I find this one of the scariest games I have ever played, still, and jumping at certain points!

Anyone else still play/revisit these 15-10 year old classics? It seems that once I get over the initial shock of the graphics, these really are great, challenging and atmospheric games, still.

I fire up Road Rash every now and then, still great fun.

What was the futuristic racer that was a big thing as well? Warp something? Can't find anything on Google.

I just got a laptop, so went through my steam list to find something to play in offline mode that it could play at ok levels.

Halflife 2 selected, now im playing back through it again. smile
Gta san andreas is going on it also.
They are games I have finished on multiple systems over the years, that can be played again and again unlike many of the other games.

I bought a lot of the PS1 games from the PS store on my PS3, not sure if Wipeout is one of them, though, it may be. I do remember Wipeout being popular in some nightclubs, when there were 'chill out' rooms!

I just wish I could transfer all of my download purchases on the PS3 (all digital downloads from the store) to the PS4..

I have that somewhere too. You could pick a Boxster with one of 4 colours and play 3 or 4 different tracks, one in the snow I think. Blew my mind when I first go it laugh

Wasn't it called Boxster Challenge?

If so, I remember being escorted off Sony's stand in the mid '90's for trying to play a demo version, meant for distributors eyes only at the Nuremburg Toy Fair!

Ah, OK. I have only ever had three racing games - Gran Turismo (and sequels, naturally - it was this game that got me into cars..), Colin McCrae 1 and TOCA 1. I just remember the Boxster game because I seen it at a toy fair..

Sadly no, the PS3 hasn't been touched since I got the PS4... I did think about putting the Wii on the other day to play Resident Evil, but it's boxed in the loft.....

I no longer have the console, but I remember playing the Porsche Challenge and Overboard! demos repeatedly for about 24 hours straight when I first bought the console (my first ever). Think the first games I had were Pandemonium and Tomb Raider, followed shortly by GT1.

We bought our PS3 back in 2008, when living in Italy. It was then boxed up and put in the attic when we moved back to the UK. When I realised there was a new Gran Turismo available, I got it out of the attic, changed the HDD for a 1TB version, and then discovered I could buy and download all of my old favorite PS1 (and some PS2) games, so I bought all of the Tomb Raider games up to 5, all of the Resi games up to 5, and the first Silent Hill games (and FF-VII). I ended up playing these more than new titles, even for the PS4 (I had high hope for SW Battlefront, but that proved to be a very hollow and short lived disappointment, despite the incredible graphics).

I like the new Tomb Raider games, they look incredible, but I enjoy playing the originals more. The new ones seem more like Uncharted action games, which is fine, but I already have Uncharted 4. I am not a Luddite, though. I do enjoy playing some of the latest titles, and enjoyed Until Dawn, and will buy the new GT when it comes out. But quite honestly, playing these older games is like putting on a comfortable old pair of slippers - and am quite astounded that Silent Hill, despite its graphics, can still make me anxious when playing!

I have Alien Isolation for PS4, and am yet to play that - and I like watching my step son play COD4 (and before that, Destiny), as I am hopeless at that with a joystick..

ETA - They do have the original Wipeout for sale:

I never upgraded past PS1 anyway so that's my "level".

My mega horsepower Ford RS200 and Nissan GTRs on Gran Turismo are a handful.

Anyone else play V-Rally? I lost whole weekends of my life during secondary school playing that...

Just recently started playing Toca Touring cars 2 on my laptop with an emulator and PS3 controller hooked up. So much fun!
