Recomend quiet tyres please

Hi i have bridgestone potenza re 050 potenza fitted at the moment and i find them loud. Im ready for a change soon. Can anyone recomend some quiet tyres, and good on mpg would help too. I looked at the ratings and saw the dunlop sport maxx RT looked good. My tyre size is 235/35/19 91y xl .. Cheers

And better figures are allegedly achieved by a tread design specifically designed to project more tyre noise into the wheelarch and less into the exterior environment. If true then searching for quiet tyres on the tested noise figures is exactly what you don't want to be doing.

It just means the ratings are absolutely no use - they could be creating noise frequencies handled by the insulation already in the car, they could be quiet by design (both in wheel arch and drive-by), or they could be horrible.

Have Dunlop BluResponse on two cars and they're the quietest tyres I've ever fitted to anything. The only thing I can hear at 60mph is the wind and the radio.

Goodyear Vector 4 Seasons is my recommendation. Quiet - and being an all season tyre - not bad in the snow/cold. They're aren't a 'performance' tyre but are great for everyday use.

Agreed on the quietness - though mine do seem to have been puncture-prone

This. Put a set on last year and the quietness was immediately apparant. Great tyre really though perhaps not the best for feel.

Goodyear EfficientGrip Performance are the quietest I've used, developed alongside the aforementioned Dunlops.

I've used Dunlop Sport Maxx RT before and rate them highly. When the Pirellis on the car at the moment die I'll be replacing them with the Dunlops. On my previous AMG I found the Dunlops quiet and very sticky.

Stay away from runflat tyres.

Michelin are your best best, you'll pay the price though

I would expect low noise to go hand in hand with good MPG. Low rolling resistance should generate less sound, should it not?
