I was hoping to have enough fitness to attempt it this year, but I've done a couple of off-road 28 milers recently and after about 2:45 my arse is in agony and I have to get off.

Definitely having a go next year once I've built up some saddle resistance.

Good luck to those who are doing it. cool

Good luck - glad you have been training, because its quite tough. I did it last year, and maybe i'll do it again some day, but not for a while!

Go look at 2 Toms Uk website for their attractively names "butt shield" . Seriously, it's fabulous, I did 10 hour MX Enduro on a 450 Honda and did 20 miles in MTB on trails 2 days later.

Also, adjust your saddle, maybe tip forward a bit and lower it a tad, small adjustment can make a massive difference to arse endurance.

No issues at all in the ass dept! Two pairs of padded shorts and plenty of Chamois Cream.

All the cool kids* are on it, you should join. Basically, we want to check you didn't get up the hill quicker than us.

'* cool kids = socially awkward willy-waving showoffs

Cheers! Was a great day wasn't it! Superb organisation. Fortunate that I didn't need ANY mech support (bike ran like a dream!) and I managed to stay upright so didn't need any medic support either. Painkillers WERE required though at one stage as two weeks previously I managed to cause myself a 'sub lux shoulder dislocation'(from coming off). Apparently.

There's loads on YT. Does this give a good impression of the event? Friend has asked if I want to do it next year.
