Lots and lots of systems ripe for failure after a few years. Plenty of aftersales for Honda biggrin

It's a Honda, it'll be fine.

in 5-10 years the drivetrain will be completely outdated techwise.

Dan, just watched this and then some of the older video blogs also. You're the best car reviewer on youtube! Brilliant, detailed thorough driving impressions with subjective opinions and objective facts clearly defined. More of these please!
Cheers

The original NSX wasn't a track car anyway, neither is the new one - I bet <10% of owners ever take it to a track more than once. It needs to be a great road car that's comfortable when you want it to be, and can entertain (and flatter?) when the time is right. Sounds like they might just have pulled that off.
This. The original had ruched leather and could be had with a normal auto box. It was a great sports car / supercar, which is to say a great road car.

We get far to hung up on sports cars / supercars being good track cars these days. Whats good for one isn't good for the other and most owner wont go near a track. This will be an amazing daily driving sports car.

If modding my road car for the track has taught me anything, its that I need two cars.

Remarkably generous of you, thanks! And, Mintbird, considering how long Harris has been at it I'll take that as a compliment too! It's a (relatively) new format for us that we're developing alongside our usual reviews when we get cars in/attend launches. Hopefully it brings things to life a little more; the intention is for it to be quick and easy to compile a vid blog of this type so there'll be a degree of rough and readiness about it but with that there's hopefully an honest insight into our impressions as we go. This will be alongside the slicker 'proper' video reviews like we are also filming, like the Megane vs Civic and Aston DB11 ones. They obviously take a lot more time and resource though so it's nice to be able to just keep a flow of these going up. More where this came from anyway!

Cheers,

Dan

Was thinking along the same lines, i don't see it as a viable used car out of warranty either, even if it is a Honda, battery life-span? would rather have a 570.

Good video though, they're improving thumbup

Could that not be said for just about any engine?

not really. newer stuff is mostly better in the emissions department.
would you say the Mezger is outdated? the S54, Ferrari V8s , Enzo V12... the list goes on.

an engine is potentially a classic, same cant be said about gearboxes, they are just slow and inefficient, same goes for a 15 year old hybrid drivetrain.

By the time the new NSX is 15 years old, there'll probably be a burgeoning after market tuning scene, either tweaking/upgrading the hybrid bits, or ripping them out altogether smile

Those engines are outdated by their more modern counterparts, yes. The Enzo V12, for example, isn't as high-tech as compared to the V12 found in the latest F12TdF

hmm, let me put this another way. do you think electric cars with a 100 mile range will be considered "classics" ? hehe

is the SMG box in the e46 m3 considered a classic?
