Ordered one last weekend...
I ordered one at the turn of the year and have still not heard anything re delivery timetables. In fact, I've not even been sent a spec sheet or options list. Hardly inspiring stuff.

In the meantime, I've ordered something else from Stuttgart which, after a 7 month wait, arrives at the end of this month.

Options are pretty much as the configurator, I've been told they begin production at the end of this month with delivery before the end of the year.

This, and tbh when you break it down to individual components, specially electric bits they'll be tried and tested parts that are probably fitted to 50% of cars for sale today.

The gearbox is ZF, there's no reason why it is more likely to go in this than a BMW/JLR/Audi etc.. Bosch will probably make various sensors or coils etc..

I doubt it would put anyone off buying a new warrantied one, and unless some horror story appears in the next 5 years it won't stop me buying a used one either!
alfa have used bosch sensors and electricals for >20 years, doesn't stop the haters though.

That'll be the standard Alfa UK "mushroom" treatment. It applies everywhere: purchase, warranty, servicing etc, etc. Get used to it!

My word. Imagine what it could do on some stickier rubber with that unhinged lunatic behind the wheel! :-)

There's lots of different figures out there, ranging from around 1500kg up to 1650+. I suspect the ~1500kg is dry weight with the 1650kg being EU (wet with driver) which would make it marginally heavier than an M3. Not overly heavy for the sector by any means, but not ground-breakingly light either.

1524 DIN, meaning full tank of gas, all the liquids, no driver, no optional equipment (that in the giulia would make it even lighter (carbon fiber bucket seats + ceramic breaks).

Rumour has it that they couldn't get the Ferrari V8 to fit, so they cut two cylinders off to make the 2.9L V6 that they have now
It wasn't the v8 it was the maserati v6 that didn't fit. Well, it turned out good.

We can all go on after Alfa Romeo and their demonstration of how they defied the laws of physics; 500bhp my arse!!

ETA...I'd take one over an RS, AMG or M car any day.

I am in Rome at the moment and the undercover Police (the ones who drive around in suits) or whatever they are have ordered a lot of these and they look really good in the dark colours they have ordered them in.

But then in Rome even the most beaten up Fiat looks right at home smile
