All I'm gonna say is that I tip my hat to the driver.. There was plenty of 'To me.......To you' going on with the steering at times.. Full on commitment..

Great lap and what a great saloon.....

502 bhp.....right. try 600+! that looks like F10 M5 Performance pace to me
It looks 23 seconds faster than F10 M5 pace to me wink

And don't forget that no M5's are actually 'only' 552bhp
Depends which one 560ps/575ps or 600ps, I'll let you work that back BHP.

How have they kept it so light? 1500kg ish isn't it which is the weight of a small hatch in 2016.

The good old Italian way! Half the bolts and most of the rust proofing are still sitting somewhere in the factory.

There's lots of different figures out there, ranging from around 1500kg up to 1650+. I suspect the ~1500kg is dry weight with the 1650kg being EU (wet with driver) which would make it marginally heavier than an M3. Not overly heavy for the sector by any means, but not ground-breakingly light either.

Same speed at the end of the main straight as the 918 Spyder.

Really enjoyed that. No way that car is standard, though. hehe

Probably not but history seems to dictate that 'press' cars have a tendency to be slighty better than 100% biggrin

Great video, driver and car though.

Alfa was high 270s, the 918 onboard looks to be 290-300 as he crests the hill!

The damping on that tacho needle is crap. Plus it looks like he changes up at <6500 rpm each time.

There is 284kph on the speedo of the Alfa as it kinks left downhill after the main straight. At the same point the 918 Spyder speedo is obscured, but it was 284kph just before, so it may have reached say 290kph at most. So maybe 3mph more from double the bhp.

You mean the 918 that did a 6:57 and does 0-186mph in 19.9sec? I think there's a good chance it'll have been going a bit quicker than that TBH.

That video was absolutely fantastic. This has to arguably be the best road car Alfa has ever produced? Amazing.

Can't decide if that's a marketing video for Alfa (will sell loads) or Samaritans (he's clearly trying to kill himself - see https://youtu.be/5gEdJmIVqLY?t=105 )

No stupid music - CHECK
Camera can see road and not just bonnet/mirror - CHECK
No marketing fluff obscuring rest of view - CHECK
Can hear engine - CHECK
Can hear tyres - CHECK
Driver wearing fire balaclava AND T Shirt - CHECK

It's a legend already

It was widely reported that the 918 in the video ran out of battery power before the end of the lap, so it would have had only the 608 petrol horsepower available at that point.
