900 is really cheap, so if the refurb was done properly - proper MB wings for instance, and a decent paint job - the uplift doesn't seem excessive. After all, most buyers want a car that's been fixed, not a car that they have to fix themselves.

If you want an Almandine W124 then this looks great and the advert makes it sound well worth the price. A Jersey car so plenty of short trips and periods of standing in this car's past but at least low mileage means you'll be able to move it on.

Looks nice, good find. His mark-up will make the vendor of the coupe's look positively miser-ish.

Original Turbo Technics MK2 GTI?

This seems good value considering what 8v's go for with higher mileage.

That seems too cheap to me, I didn't even think it would be in thread budget.
Must be a PH reader , its £1000 more on their website

I've just looked more closely at that ad. The installation date for the turbo is 6 April 89 but the car was registered in September 1990.

I'm on a Jaguar-fest tonight. This must be too cheap at £8400, surely?

Note the quaintly amateurish attempt to hide the VRN, which is clearly visible in some of the pictures under the black nasty.

Are you not familiar with how an auction works? wink
Well outside budget now.

Two lovely cars. I'd struggle to choose between them.

http://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C829967 Daimler V8 250, £10-ish.

http://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C834716 Series 2 Sov, £7-ish.

The Series 2 needs older style number plates but, that aside, the colours are just about perfect.

One of my friends had a HPE when we were 18/19. The croning glory was when it stsrted smoking from the steering wheel. It was a glorious thing on the odd day it worked as it should though biggrin

It'd be the 250 for me. Delightful colours too.

Amazingly, last night, I was reliably informed that a 250 would be in addition to the XJ-S, not a replacement for.

Wish I'd recorded it smile
