Wonderful early car in great colours and it keeps great company. Quite the price tag mind.

I always find myself drawn to the later 6.0 cars with the 4 speed GM box.

Oh my! That is beautiful. They can't be <£10k cars for long, Shirley?
My xjr-s will probably have to go up for sale soon to make way for something even more daft! There's a reader rides thread on it and a pic below. Will be cheaper than the car listed, and very much rarer.

I'm in windswept Cornwall at the moment, but PM me if anyone's interested in a thread discount!

OH GOD! If I didn't have two cars in the garage at the moment (admittedly one only for a service/gearbox oil change) I would be on your XJS. CDG is an excellent seller and was a pleasure to purchase my 500SL from.

Is that 4-speed GM the same one that was used in Volvos, married to the 6 cyclinder petrols, and which developed a thoroughly bad rep? Suspect not, but worth asking the Q
No, the transverse six cylinder Volvos used the GM 4T65-E, the 4 speed in the later V12 XJS, XJ12 and X300 XJR was the 4L80E for longitudinally mounted engines. The 4L80E is tough as nails and used in massive US trucks, the Hummer H1, various Bentleys and Rolls Royces too.

OMG - that is fabulous! Stunning colour on that era of Audi (was a favourite on uR quattros). Exceedingly rare in right hand drive, and rarer still as a manual

To not be rusty, and ruined, makes it very special to the right buyer

I had one as my daily driver for about 3 years...but with the dog-leg manual gearbox. From what I can see that one has the overdrive manual 'box.

The combination of living, as we did then, in the West of Scotland and TRX tyres was...well, not really that much of a "hoot" when you have to do it every day! laugh

Wasn't that one for sale a couple of years ago with a trader near Bournemouth? I recognise the reference to Salisbury and can't be that many 200s about.

All the go of the CL but without the ABC and potentially ditching it for coilovers?

What a delightful old thing. We should revive this colour palette. £9995.

My dad had a series 1 XJ6 4.2 in about 1980. It was in that colour, manual too, which was rare I think. He sold it for next nothing to some youngish lad, who turned up with his mates. They smashed it up on the way home frown.
