OMG - that is fabulous! Stunning colour on that era of Audi (was a favourite on uR quattros). Exceedingly rare in right hand drive, and rarer still as a manualTo not be rusty, and ruined, makes it very special to the right buyer
I think the owner of the VAG shop in Salisbury back then (Anthony Ince) may have driven one like that. I'm sure I remember one like it around then.

What a delightful old thing. We should revive this colour palette. £9995.

My dad had a series 1 XJ6 4.2 in about 1980. It was in that colour, manual too, which was rare I think. He sold it for next nothing to some youngish lad, who turned up with his mates. They smashed it up on the way home .

All the go of the CL but without the ABC and potentially ditching it for coilovers? He also mentions mobilolife as a selling point in the advert. This is Mercedes contracted out to lombard assist breakdown service in the nice liveried vans / R class.
For a start you need a continuous dealer history (minimum service every 24 mth) which this car doesn't have. Another fact that Mercedes bury in the small print is this only runs to 5pm. Call after that and you get some local cowboys who don't carry the van full of Mercedes spares (you can guess how I found out)

Agreed - the first thing they do when you call is check the service history, so this car will not be covered. In fairness to MB it also covers recovery to an MB dealer if it can't be fixed at the roadside and putting you into a hire car while your car is fixed - we have had 4 out of warranty recoveries with our 2 middle-aged Mercs. Not bad really for the premium of an MB dealer service over the same at a dealer.

I'm not sure how enamoured I'd be about buying a high performance Mercedes that the owner didn't have the oil changed in almost 3 years and 24k miles!!

Well buy on condition and price it accordingly. He also mentions mobilolife as a selling point in the advert. This is Mercedes contracted out to lombard assist breakdown service in the nice liveried vans / R class.

Personally if buying non Main dealer used I change the oil all filters brake fluid and coolant flush piece of mind really
The price on this one keeps going up!
I can't remember exactly when but certainly much less than a year ago this was for sale on EBay less than 5 minutes up the road from me here in North Shropshire. I reckon I could have had it by pitching up with £1300 in my hand but a surfeit of other cars including another E34 540i purchased just a week or so before meant that I didn't even dare broach the subject with SWMBO!
It quickly reappeared with a dealer in South Shropshire at (IIRC) £4500...it might have been more...I can't be sure.
Now with another dealer in Berkshire at £6500:

Thus, conclusive proof that the further south you go the more valuable your classic car becomes!

Thankyou all for the feedback on the 350z. I do rather fancy one as a change and I don't need a feel everything sports car, but fancy going back to a manual GT.
How about the interior on this: http://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C792910

That does look nice. MOT history suggests that there are a couple of bits that will need doing in the near future though.0a said:
OH GOD! If I didn't have two cars in the garage at the moment (admittedly one only for a service/gearbox oil change) I would be on your XJS. CDG is an excellent seller and was a pleasure to purchase my 500SL from.
