This is well worth considering too, no goodies in the back on this one either but that caramac designo interior is lovely. It also has much better wheels that won't see you on the back of a flatbed before 2021 is out. If you decide you do want some 20" wheels to shatter they are ten a penny on eBay, or you can buy a set from me and I won't lie to you about how full of welds they already are!

If nothing else the presence of a car with similar/better spec from a dealer with only 10k more miles on the clock for £250 less than the private sale silver one puts you in a strong position to negotiate - I'd say that silver car needs to be £10.5k really; dealer backup might mean nothing or it might mean you don't have to pay £3000 for a pair of coil packs in 2 months, or £1k for an ABC strut.

Just spied this one too in my usual S600 saved search.

I think this could be the one to get. I like the colours and whilst missing some of the nice kit inside it’s far from lacking. Price seems very sensible in these strange times too.

Not many unmodified MK1's around with low mileage like this. Given what other 'classics' are going for £9995 seems cheap.

I love an old 505 GTi manual estate, obviously well-loved/used at 200k+ miles.

I love that this mundane family wagon has survived so long, and that it is so looooooooooong, but surely it should be £1000 not £6000.

Also: wow - grey interior is grey. Was 1990 the apogee of grey plastic dullsville interiors?

Attractive in this spec and 5.2 to 60 is decently quick
Is it really "only" 5.2 seconds? I would have thought it would be quicker with 306bhp! Not that it isn't "quick", but it could be quicker!
It weighs 1500KG, it's very lardy for a two seater. An X350 XJR is only 1700KG and with 400bhp only manages 5.1 odd secs so that seems in order.
The old boys' Jag is a fair bit quicker than 5.1 to 60:

ETA: Jaguar claimed a conservative 5.0, ac found 4.7.

I thought that £6000 for that sheddy million-mile 505 Estate with its foutu paint, drab-o-luxe interior, and horrid new Ditchfinders was rich, but then I saw this Thread-busting saloon, asking 11,000 WTFs.

reg on MOT check says invalid - how strange - even if it was a private reg it would still come up on a different car etc

I think this might be the best specified 500 I've seen.

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/RARE-2008-OBSIDIAN-BLAC...

Brabus wheels look naff, but it has ABC, proper leather, fridge, climate seats from and rear, nightvision, rear AC, radar cruise, rear tables, rear blinds, rear entertainment. Definitely bought to be driven in by the first owner I'd say.

Not a bad price given the spec and current market.

I think the dealer has found out why the previous owner traded in his 12 year old twin turbo V12, and it wasn't because "it's working absolutely fine, honest mate" hehe

If he's this much fun to deal with pre-sale he'll be a real charmer in the unlikely event that your newly purchased 12 year old twin turbo V12 develops a fault. I'm inclined to say that the best thing you could do with this car is use it to chip down the price on another one.
