Agree. Cool points 10, want points 0.5.
You have to wonder when the most jingoistic Frenchman in history is concerned to risk outlay.

The Citroen CX six-wheelers were built in France, Belgium and Germany during the 1980s, and were commonly known as Loadrunners. A few hundred were built. They were mostly big vans, and were mainly used for overnight delivery of newspapers, travelling at 100mph in order to arrive at a distribution point in time for early morning delivery.
Interesting if true, but price still seems very punchy given the rust and the dodgy LPG system.

I seem to remember they were used for running the FT from London to Paris, Brussels, Frankfurt etc overnight so it was ready for breakfast.

That's true, but this one is a conversion so isn't even 'original'.

Terrible pics but that colour looks great in person, and the lack of silver plastic trim is good too.
That colour works well I think. Interesting that the two cars you posted work especially well due to their interesting colours.
I totally agree. I tried to buy a car very similar to the estate but the seller was a bit of a cock.

I ended up with a silver estate (which is one of my least favourite colours) but at least I got the one with the silly (E55) engine

And yes I know the brown one is a 212 and mine is a 211.

I know - ive been doing research....

There's a couple of these up at at the moment on AT around the 9/10k mark - big bang for the buck, although interiors are supposed to be very plasticy - engine and drive train seem trouble free apart from some air hoses that dont like getting old . the boot isnt as big as you would think given all the gubbins underneath , and amazingly you can get a towbar that stick out the middle of it, just dont place anything near the hot exhausts
plenty of aftermarket parts from USA (and cheap enough) if you want to go down that route, plus a healthy online community too.,,,,

edit: pic of towbar, and this owner had his exhaust curve away from it ;-)

I bet that's a hoot!

Does it retain a normal car gearbox and so on? Can you rev the tits off it and upset the neighbours?

MG midget original engine=46 bhp and 72 Nm
BMW K1100 engine=100 bhp and 107 Nm.

That'll be quick!

And if the work has been done for a 1100 engine, then maybe, just maybe, it'd be an easy upgrade to the 1200 or 1300 versions with over 170bhp?

Owning a BMW K1200RS (the last version of the BMW Brick engine I can tell you 1200 is as big as that engine gets from factory

It also has 130 bhp max even with a good exhaust system the gains are minimal

The 1300 engine whilst it is a 4 is not in the brick configuration so would not be an easy swap/transplant

I've seen a lot of these engines swapped into imps and fiat 500 sized cars - they are might impressive but for a midget I'd be going the S2000 engine/gearbox swap route as having seen that done it was an absolute riot

Thank you, I was confusing my engines. I was thinking about the transverse inline 4 from the K1200S and K1300S but you're right - different set-up.

Q1 dunno, Q2 you would hope so!
Not sure if the diff etc is up to it so we can imagine there is more to it than just swapping the engine.
