For some reason the advert screams run away to me - attitude of the seller in written form isn't helping, although the missing aerial on the RNS quarter and what appears to be red tape over it in another pic probably isn't helping either....For some reason I'm drawn to the Rover 75 V8. Apparently they did make some as an estate/tourer but they're very very rare.
I did manage to find this though

I really wanted to like these, but a frankly rather wheezy and not very powerful V8 means you don't get much for your 20mpg. I drove one back when they were available new and it was a mountain of promise and a molehill of delivery. It didn't help that it made a great deal of noise while not going very fast. Add that to the fact that MGR had stripped a lot of the quality out of the originally rather marvellous 75 by this point and it becomes even less appealing.I did manage to find this though

I'd have one for £2k maybe, but for £10k there are all sorts of wildly superior V8 saloons available. Leave these to the Rover lunatics.

Not as nice as the green one, and in a somewhat less exotic location, but it is cheaper (actually in budget) and it is easier to view.

The dealer has some appealing stock.
My uncle had a 280SE 3.5 many years ago - I drove it when I was a teenager. It felt like a gigantic and very charismatic power boat. If pressed though, wonderful though the Mercedes was, I would rather have a Silver Shadow.http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Mercedes-Benz-280SE-4-5-...

After the barge meet today, one of these please: http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/2016...

It'd end up a very different beast if you drove it home.
I like a challenge. If you gave me a huge sack of money, I'd happily go and get it for you.
I've been looking at the Brooklands website for a few months, trying not to fly to Melbourne to look at that MB.I like a challenge. If you gave me a huge sack of money, I'd happily go and get it for you.
the price hasnt moved for 3-4 months (and neither has the car..)
looks great though

I'm sure I saw an advert the other day, which said the current 760 will do the sprint to 60 in 3.6 seconds.
I know that's not the point of a barge but that sounds like a stupidly quick car, particularly for such a big barge.
It's 5.6 to 60, which is pleasingly brisk rather than absurdly rapid.I know that's not the point of a barge but that sounds like a stupidly quick car, particularly for such a big barge.

I don't think you have the right numbers.http://www.telegraph.co.uk/cars/news/bmw-m760li-xd...
This says 3.9 to 62 which could be considered absurdly rapid for a car like this.

Can't compete with style and comfort but there's something I really like about these, especially in this condition: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1981-W-Talbot-Sunbeam-Ti...
Feels massively overpriced - an Avenger GLS isn't far off the mechanical spec. of one of those, but would sell for a quarter of the price.Pintofbest said:

Have we had this yet?
400 brake and stock brakes, what's not to like?

Shame it's a Nissan lump rather than a Lampredi.400 brake and stock brakes, what's not to like?

I've always wanted a Lada with a Lampredi Volumex engine.

As a kid I had a green one of these as a matchbox car and loved it, thought it looked super cool. My current convertible requirements are met by am mx5. Which is just what I need I really do fancy this.

Lots of precision engineering under the skin to get excited about. VTEC lump, aluminium wishbone suspension and 4WS will offset the bland and anonymous looks. And such a rarity in uk spec with those miles. The Great Man, who declared that no other car was as nice to drive, would have approved.

Lovely looking thing. LHD, but reasonably priced (I think!) http://www4.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201...
