If that R129 was in decent condition then it would be a good buy at 7k. The wheels would be worth 2k or so, after a proper (read, expensive) refurb, and the twin exhaust AMG backbox can fetch decent money too. The rear alloy is deep-dished and just from that photo looks as though it is out of true between about 10 o'clock and 12.

But it looks lowered to me, and the line of the front arch look off - as if they have been amateurishly rolled. That doesn't have to be fatal I guess if you can run to new wings and a suspension rebuild. Here's what the normal ride height would be

I think it's white over blue leather. Overall it's very early 90s gangsta, I like it

Going to tax mine tomorrow and take it out for a drive. Dreading the seasonal re-appearance of the bork fairy but such is life.

Oh, the interior. "Over" seems a funny way of referring to it but I understand what was meant now.

I have found a place I think i will use to fabricate a new exhaust to replicate the OEM sound for my 500SL. I just need to settle on a place to do the roof now!

Why not take it back to the place that ASBO'd it for you and get them to show-again?

Superb.
Great colour.
I wish more people would order their new cars in more adventurous colours compared to the usual black and white and every shade of grey in between.
It would leave it a lot more interesting when they get down to barge level.

No. I just want it sorted properly! It will be a quality item (though 3 times the cost). Should have gone that way in the first instance but there you are, I learned my lesson!

I like this M3, not sure about the garage and 'private sale' though.
Run, don't walk.
How come? The "trader selling as private" bit? Shame, I love the car. Yellow, manual, and 18s lick

What gets me is it's the owner of the dealer selling it I think. And if he doesn't have the confidence to sell it with dealer backup...

He's got 3 dissolved car sales companies behind him, always returning on the same plot - a bit of waste land between rows of terraced houses.

I'd run away from that one!

Oh, they will sell that for something very hefty. The restoration probably cost north of £25K, and the 450 SEL 6.9 is very rare, only about 700 made in RHD and fewer than 300 imported into the UK. There can't be many left at all.

If you don't like that for the money try this one, which is on for rather a lot more,

Better colours on your car but I wouldn't buy it. Not necessarily because of the price, although it's toppy to say the least, but because of the crap, irritating advert and the stupid watermarked photos. Without meeting the vendor, I know he's an irritating tt.

I have a nice chap in Nottingham who has done 500SLs in the past and who came recommended from elsewhere, however I am also waiting a quote from Merc for an OEM set up. Not sure which I will go for in the end.

PD Gough

Doesn't look like much on Google but seems to be well recommended, and I liked the cut of the chap's gib!
