Porsches especially the 911 need as big spoiler to hide their fat saggy ass as per GT3 RS and Cayman GT4.

Subjective is preferring a 458 over a 488. Preferring a 911 or R8 is borderline delusional.

The Huracan has gone too round as per R8.

The Mclaren front looks like a puppet face and the rear is too low like the P1. The P1 looks best with its spoiler up at all times. View a P1 for sale and the spoiler will usually always be up in the pics. (P1 rear looks st with the spoiler down).

Any of the 2015 Ecoty cars are better than this lot.
Is that the Hurucan with hardly a curved line on it?
So by your thinking subjective is preferring a 911 with a wing instead of one without...
I think perhaps a dictionary is in order...

Whether the McLaren has a puppet face or a rear that's too low is also subjective....all cars have a face, what makes this a puppet? The 570's rear is actually quite high in relation to it's roofline....
P1s have their wings up for pictures 'cos it's boss' it's the P1s thing - track mode...ooooh.... cool....

Hey I respect your subjective your opinion though, however wrong it is.

The Huracan is probably the pointiest of the cars on sale...it barely has anything "round" on it. And it you're referring to size, it's not a big car

From that list it would have to be the (after reading EVO) Alfa followed by the GTS.

Interesting the GT8 is there. Other than the noise I thought everybody who reviewed it just found it pointless and just not very good?
"just not very good"? Where did you hear that?
I think you missed some of the reviews on the GT8:

AutoExpress: "best Aston ever driven"

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=46Gt7fLWoWc

EVO: "lovely balance"

http://www.evo.co.uk/aston-martin/v8-vantage/17874...

and so on..

btw, it also raced in this year's 24hrs of Nurburgring and it was pretty damn fast (pole with 10sec advantage in SP8 and, leading massively up until the 22nd hours before it crashed) http://www.the-advantage.org/2016/05/aston-martin-...

If this is ECOTY'16, I really glad they brought in the GT8 as it is one of the purer car of the lot

That NSX will be hard to beat imo. As far as i can see it only lacks the Astons noise, that could win for its noise alone.

I think if EVO keeps a consistent approach in choosing a winner, both the 911R and the GT8 will be serious contenders. Proper 3-pedal cars, pure driving machines (relatively to what's on offer nowadays), strong heritage/link to motorsport, special cars with character and personality, with still an increasingly rare N/A engine.

Sure, they are not the fastest of the lot. But this wasn't the winning ingredient in ECOTY 2015 (see 675LT and GT3RS). I think Mclaren and NSX will ultimately suffer for missing that driver's involvement that you are more likely to find in the GT8/911R.

911R will win this IMHO, I would like the Aston to do well too but as it's EVO the 911 will win.

What an awful list.

How ugly have new cars become.

They 991R is an extra ugly Porsche.
The Huracan is the ugliest Lambo in recent years.
The 570s is the ugliest Mclaren to date (at the front).
The GT8 looks like its passed through a girls makeup room.

Forget how they drive. They have to look good first.

By the way this is Evo. The 911R has already won.
Aesthetics are usually subjective but you're wrong on literally every example there.

Huracans are bloody lovely.
Huge update on the standard Gallardos. Makes them look really dated now.

Evo's Porsche of the Year is the 911R? I'm shocked.

Thought the DB11 might have gotten a look in but given an Aston choice, Evo made the right one.

They might be taking the long route north. They did the NC500 for ecoty last year.

Had the pleasure of coming across them at kylesku about this time last year.

Agree about the looks, apart from the 911, I don't think any of those cars are good looking.

Agreed, I think the GT8 has more chances to do well in ECOTY this year

The 911R is the one I'd take, and also the one I'd expect to win.

I'm also surprised at the lack of M2, last year they had both the 911 GT3RS and the Cayman GT4, so it isn't because they already have the M4 GTS that the M2 has been ruled out.
If you look in the picture below there is an M2 in the background. Probably included in the test.

Yeah, various spots in Galloway eg A712, Port Logan.
