Lets be honest nobody wants a 300bhp rally car for the road when you can buy a golf r focus rs with similar power level for 400 quid a month.

The problems with rallying aint the cars its the series itself at the people who run it.
Not sure where you get the idea no one wants rally cars. I had a 22B and loved it. In fact, I'm trying to buy my old car back, if for no other reason, than the fact that there's nothing new out there that appeals to me, and the 22 (1998 vintage no less) is something I'd happily have.

And just to state the point, I also like the EVO's, with the 6.5 (TME) being another favourite I'd happily have, although I prefer the Subaru if I'm honest with you.

No, I don't like the current cars. For me, they need to bring the Spec C Type R here, and market them at around 350 bhp, 1300kg, and around £30k. A decent gearbox wouldn't go astray, although FHI don't have deep pockets, so its unlikely. But I still think the spec above compares pretty well.

Been looking at Wales Rally GB this morning, as I always go and this year I'm not sure. Last proper stage is at 13:00 on Saturday (ignoring the micky mouse cholmondely castle spectator friendly stage - I think they're good for getting rallying to the masses, but not when it's 50 miles away from the proper stages and a royal P.I.T.A to get to)

Don't know what's gone wrong, last years route was getting back to proper rallying with night stages, nice variety. You can't even spectate at Pantperthog this year, yet they're harping on about bringing back a classic Welsh stage, it's all for T.V. I think.

It's the events that need a long hard look at I think, the cars are spectacular enough in person, the TV shows speed but not the noise, look and feel of being there.

I don't know what the answer is but I fear it's not the way the FIA is taking it currently...
