Cars That Are Ageing Badly

I think it's where they 'let in' the extra plank length over the XE.I was reminded of the old Volvo S60/S80 relationship. The Peter Horbury one..
Having said that, I quite like it! Cars that look a bit under-dressed and 'dated' when launched tend to be the ones that age most gracefully. A lot of the over-blinged German stuff now will, I think, look incredibly naff in a short time.
The latter tends to be true of Renaults, too. Very stylish when launched with all the latest cliches, but a generation down the road they look a bit comical.

lets not forget that it was 2007 and cars didnt have drls then
DRls were introduced in Sweden in the 1970s and in other countries well before 2000.The LEDs were introduced on the first gen R8 in 2007, if memory serves.

Was beihnid a pre facelift e90 3 Series, was surprised just how dated it looks, the M-Sport still look good but the normal ones look very dated. I have to say though the rest of the car still looks ok, I think it's the rear lights that spoil it.
Isn't it ironic that everyone cried for the hanging of Chris Bangle at the time for ruining the design of the 3 series!AlexHat said:
The trick is to find a car that if you put it on a '66' plate does it look like it belongs or not? I was following a new X3/X5 a few days after the plate change and thought it looked dated and not a brand new £40K+ car.
I thought the same when I was behind a 66 plate Q5, looked very dated, must be due an upgrade though. With these feet said:
Mk1 TT, Wifey has a MK2 and still looks quite modern, the first generation not so.
First one is a design classic, second one still looks good for a ten year old design but it was always kind of watered down.I think familiarity breeds contempt with a lot of models, plus the ownership profile colours judgement a little.
