I did, was ok, not quite up to standard, decent.

seemed to be a very loosely based on weak rehash of the gunmen of the apocalypses episode.

Bit hit and miss for me, but there were some quite funny elements - the dialogue in the speakeasy was quite witty.

I'll give the next episode another go...

Not bad for a reboot. Certainly better than the previous attempt which shall not be named.

Lifelong Red Dwarf fan here. Watched all of them.

First few minutes I had huge doubts about its prospects, bit stilted/forced etc but Kevin Ebdon's character helped break that down. Have to say I laughed quite a lot when they were with the scientists.

Happy enough with it will be watching the rest....of course smile

I thought it was quite decent, as said above the simulants reminded me of Gunmen of the Apocalypse. I would say about the same level as Red Dwarf 8.

I thought I saw Grant Naylor on the credits, does that mean Rob Grant is back writing?

Yesterday's episode was much better. Quite a few laugh out loud moments.

They seem to be basing the new eps on the best of the old eps, not a bad idea .

I realise that I am probably talking to the wrong people, but I caught this last night on Dave and I have to say I thought it was utterly excrable.

Like many, I loved the first 2 or 3 series when I was a geeky teenager in the late 80s, but then I think I grew out of it. I just found it embarrassing last night, a few in jokes and clumsy gags all linked together by a weak story that felt it had been done many times before. Worse was seeing the actors all clearly now well into middle age.

I can't believe it just hasn't been left to die quietly, dragging these things out never ends well. Even Monty Python was weak by the end. Things like Fawlty Towers and Alan Partridge got wrapped up before they ran out of ideas.

Don't mean to offend anybody by this, just my honest opinion.

i am glad its back and still pretty good, ok its not groundbreaking and sticks to the old format, and not fresh like the first season, but still offers something different to the usual american ste churned out.

I do know what you mean and think that were it a new show it wouln't even get the green light. But compared to the last of the original series it's great. I view it as an old rock band who were amazing back in the day before losing their way for years, then comming back with a goodwill tour where they revisit all the classics.

Even the first 2-3 "funny" series have aged dreadfully and it should have been put out of its misery a long, long time ago.

Unfortunately it has an incredibly hardcore following of totally obsessive fans and this seems to have the effect of convincing the actors, writers and commissioners that it still appeals to mainstream mass audiences.

Good, lets hope us obsessive old bds give them enough ratings to keep at it.

Otherwise it's back to AmericaDoesXFactorsBritainsIceroadTalentTruckers

Loved episode 2, laughed a lot. Die hard fan but even I have recognised when it has not been so good, however personally I did not think this was one of them!
