Has anyone else noticed how everyone starts sticking to 70mph on the m-way in the presence of a non-emergency police vehicle, ie. CSI, Scientific support etc? This really annoys me
It annoys you when people stop breaking the law? scratchchin

It's not that, I don't speed myself, it's the fact that everyone who normally speeds suddenly become law-abiding citizens around those who actually have no authority over them. Maybe I should have posted this in the "annoyed beyond reason" thread paperbag

Any vehicle that looks remotely like an official mode of transport, will encourage a high percentage of drivers to ease off a bit.

The only roadside warning equipment that will make ALL drivers Sdab...Average speed cameras.

The annoyance that that causes is a mere bagatelle compared to the tools who come steaming past on a dual carriageway then slow down to 10-15mph below the limit to go past a speed camera, boxing you in behind a vehicle you could have overtaken had they simply carried on at the speed limit.

Not talking about 'beating the lights'.
I'm talking about keeping up a decent speed if the lights are green. Obviously we all have to be prepared to stop if they change. But don't slow down just in case they might ffs.

The drivers who sit at 40 mph everywhere. You get to a 20 or 30 mph zone and they still sit at 40 mph.

Also the drivers who hold you up but once they get to a straight they take off only to slow down again when a corner approaches.
Urgh yes! Most of my journey to the girlfriend's house is A road, 40, 50, 60, 30, 40, 30, 40, 60, 40, 30. And there's people who do 40 the whole way and you can't over take (well I can't in a 105 bhp MiTo) so you're stuck the whole way

I generally have no bad thoughts towards motorcyclists, as the majority come across as considerate and competent. However, there are three I have noticed during my commute that really grind my gears:
1. Those who wear the "POLITE" hi-vis vests, typically seen sitting bolt upright
2. Those who have fitted blinding DRL LEDs to their ont forks
3. The one guy who had 1. and 2. but decided to have alternating strobes on his DRL LEDs which he switches on when filtering. I have no objection to filtering at all, and am aware that most people don't always check for bikes when switching lanes, etc. but to have alternating strobes makes some of the half-asleep early morning commuters panic.

I ride a bike and truth be told those ones would piss me off too.

I'll add another one. The motorcyclist idiots who ride with full beam on.

No it does not make you be seen. It means I actively avoid looking anywhere near you, if you are behind me it means I will move so I'm not being blinded.

It also means that rather than my normal "I move out of the way for bikers" I don't. I'm not going to do anything stupid like blocking or anything dangerous but I'm also not going to go out of my way and make it easy for the fktard who likes to blind everyone.

You're driving along a DC or motorway when joining traffic appears on the sliproad. You pull out into L2 to allow them to join, they then match your speed. So you increase a bit on the loud pedal to expedite past, before returning to the inside lane. However you notice as you push your loud pedal, they're doing the same and eventually you're doing 10mph faster than you were before you moved over for them, with them still alongside. This really pisses me off.

Everybody has a fear of passing a red light, so I often wonder if the people with black box policies slow down deliberately at lights, so they change before get there - as they don't have the option to speed up the small amount required to pass before they change.

On my commute, I know roughly if my position in the queue when the green cycle starts is going to be successful/borderline or just not worth the risk. So like most people at that junction every day, I may speed up slightly some days to make sure of success and not rely on it being borderline.

I would put bit coins on the fact that the large majority of TL are in a 30 or 40mph zone. So what's the hurry?

Also, if you are paying attention and see that the lights have been green for some time...

Amazing. I'm not talking about flooring it to get through them - just maintain your speed.
Amber tells you to prepare to stop - i.e. slow down and stop.

Off topic I know but the fast show was along with Father Ted the funniest programmes on the television. I don't think the youth of today would get either of them, mind you I think half the adult drones nowadays would not get them.

AMBER means ‘Stop’ at the stop line. You may go on only if the AMBER appears after you have crossed the stop line or are so close to it that to pull up might cause an accident

Not quite the same thing.

Just because it's happened half a dozen times in the last two days...corner cutters. I've had to come to a complete stop so they didn't slice the front of my car with their inability to turn into right angle junctions without carving the opposite lane. s.

O...and they guy at number 88. Everything you do...everything...also a .

I said 'slow down and stop'.
You say 'stop at the stop line'.

I suppose I was hoping that would mean the same to most people.
