Here is the clip from Dougie on Top Gear against 2 parkour lads at the old BBC building, the finish is unbelievable

I was simply expressing my surprise at how much development, science and tech had gone into a trials bike just for this attempt. I naively assumed that it would be relatively standard apart from some better pegs to stand on etc.
I was in no way belittling the achievement or 'pissing on anyone's chips'.
Stop putting 2 and 2 together and coming up with 58.

Nobody knows if he did or he didn't. He first proposed it though. Best I can come up with is that he nearly did it in 1977 according to his Son Gary. Leaves Dougie as the "first"
We were at the TT in 1993 when Dave Taylor was wheelying around the course. I know for sure he didn't succeed as he dropped the wheel down at Appledene (just after Greeba Bridge) right where we and a small handful of people were watching.Edited by telecat on Monday 26th September 19:05
Incidentally DT had a motor in his front wheel as well as footpegs set back by the rear wheel spindle.
Not taking away anything from Dave Taylor as seen his shows many times and his fundraising is something that continues today.

I saw the Bike before the attempt at Vertigo UK. It looks surprisingly standard. Given the Tank on the Vertigo is only 2.7 Litres that "hump" for the fuel is really needed. My son has the standard Combat Camo and it's a very good bike. I was in no way belittling the achievement or 'pissing on anyone's chips'.
