RE: Five-door Fiesta ST

There's 21k ST-1, ST-2 and ST-3s registered in total. There's about 1k of the latest Clio - Renault really cocked up with 5 doors and auto.
I thought Renault did a pretty good job disguising the rear doors TBH:I don't see why it would put anyone off if they otherwise liked the car. I think their issue is mainly that it reviewed almost universally as not as good as the ST.
I really don't understand the logic in what models are offered in the UK to other countries.
Having a look on the US Ford website, there is a Fiesta Sedan. Yes a Fiesta with a BOOT ?!?!?
Also I was looking at Honda Civics. Do you know there are three Civic shapes in the US. Coupe / Hatch and again with a boot. I was aware of the FD2 so the saloon was not a surprise but the coupe is a great looking car.
Why does the UK only deserve the boring same old format of models?
Bring us the Coupes, bring us the sporty 5 doors, bring us saloons.

I've got to agree. I'm a big fan of the Renaultsport models and especially the Clio range. I'm still a fan of this new one and i was impressed with my test drive of one last year.I don't see why it would put anyone off if they otherwise liked the car. The problem is the fanbase IMO. The formula was always a hardcore and pure driving experience which is what won people over. However, only a small amount of people generally want something like this. As soon as this was taken away from them with the new model then it was just slated to the hills.
I think it's been judged unfairly as other manufacturers have made similar changes in the practical world of 5-doors, turbo engines and automatic transmissions and they have been praised highly in general.
Renault's problem has been lack of choice, something that Ford clearly understands by releasing this 5-door version of the FST. With the Clio it's what-you-see-is-what-you-get which has steered many to the Fiesta as a modern-day successor the the previous Renaultsport Clio's or even the Renaultsport Megane's.

It looks fine but I think they would have sold many more with a manual option. Also seemed strange that the Megane RS was only offered as a 3 door but the smaller car had a 5 door option forced upon it.I don't see why it would put anyone off if they otherwise liked the car. I think a lot of that is due to the quality of the changes though. If you're going to go auto only it has to be a good one and judging by the reviews it's just not good enough, even after revising the box it's still not in the same league as it's competitors offerings (DSG).Tom_The_Light_House said:

They don't sell. It's not worth their time. America, China and India like cars with boots. Europe doesn't. Hatchbacks in the US are basically considered vans...Having a look on the US Ford website, there is a Fiesta Sedan. Yes a Fiesta with a BOOT ?!?!?
