Stumbling back home after a few too many down Harrow Road - W10 at about 1.20am Early hours Sunday morning I saw an R nine T with no lights on and a hoodie youth on it being pushed by another scrote with his foot extended on a scooter (no plate).

They were going surprisingly fast and didn't stop at the lights, stupid me tried to give chase thinking they would actually stop (think it was more the alcohol which made me see the red mist).

So, if anyone knows of anyone waking up gutted on Sunday morning with a space where their R nine T was, it went that way!

Don't know the point of this thread other than, don't have anything nice in London, but if you do, put as much security on it as possible.

You've reported this to the Police, of course?

If you sent an open letter to the Met Police along the lines of "Be advised on Saturday morning at 1am, six of us will be in a van patrolling the streets of London, armed with bats and will be preventing the theft of motorcycles and administering vigilante justice where we find it being attempted.", how far do you think you would get?

Yes I have.

And just this very second I have seen another scooter two-up riding around with no plate on (top-box) just go through the Red Lights on Maida Vale Road (W9)!
There's a Red Vespa parked in front of me which I am keeping a close eye-on. Seems like an epidemic.

A brand new S1000RR went missing from the bike bay with notices on lampposts last month. I'm more than happy to set something up, but I sold my bike last month and this makes me think I don't want something new again.

I'm sitting here with my damn phone waiting for them to circulate again when I should be working!
Either way, 'IF' a sting were to be done, it would be straight forwards it would seem.

This scooter is a small one, the one I saw the other night was a bigger one, so it looks like there are a few of them.
Anyone local to this area be extra vigilant.

But bloody hell, if I am seeing dodgy kids on scooters with no plates commiting traffic violations surely they should be crossing paths with police on a daily basis!

Seems endemic in London and looking according to Facebook groups its Edinburgh too. They're untouchable if Police wont chase them. Not heard of anything similar in Manchester yet thankfully.

I'm not advocating anything of the sort myself, of course, but I'm not sure I could get too bothered if someone knocked some of these scrotes off their untaxed, uninsured, plateless mopeds and beat the living daylights out of them, leaving them crying in the street.

Yes, this could be done. Confronting them thou could turn ugly, it was only a few weeks back when i guy was killed with a knife. This is where's it really annoying as it takes a murder to get the Police involved.

It would take much for someone to get them on CCTV and follow there tracks to lock up.
