Had an XF and am now on my second Disco and have had no issues with any of them. Did 40,000 miles in the XF, 26,000 in the old Disco in 18 months and am currently on 13,000 miles in my 6 month old Disco. Not even a squeak or rattle in any of them. Guess I've been lucky?
I don't think the Jag products suffer in the same way - have had many as company cars, and only once had an engine problem with an XJ. Pintofbest said:

(I also asked Jaguar about an estate XF when it was launched and told no to that as well...)
It is coming next year.http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/jaguar/xf/95440/jagua...

bks. Worked for Ford/PAG, had numerous LRs as company cars, and each and every one had one problem or another. Had a D3, was great when it worked, but nearly always something wrong with it. Friend has a late D4 and RRS Supercharged - both have had many problems, and frequently back at the local dealer.
I've no axe to grind, it's unfortunate and no secret that LR products in the main are pretty poor when it comes to reliability
I had a D3 for 10 years and it never let me down apart from one failed suspension height sensor which turned it into a low rider. Didn't leave me stranded though. Had my D4 for 2 years and it's been faultless. Guess I've been lucky too...twice!I've no axe to grind, it's unfortunate and no secret that LR products in the main are pretty poor when it comes to reliability
I specced one to some £77k on the configurator.
The thing is; the depreciation will be like that of a Range Rover; I was just looking at last-of-the-line L322 Autobiography / Westminster SDV8 models last night - 20-odd thousand on the clock for c£35k. Someone's lost a whole lot of cash in 3/4 years!
There is no way these are occupying the same market as the older models (mine was £36k in 2004). - To those that say "inflation bla bla bla", the thing you forget is that average person's wages quite simply haven't kept pace.

Not important Clivey. Just add glitter and people will borrow more. Very amusing. He makes a series of very valid points while showing a sound comprehension of the market. Unfortunately, while it is very relevant perspective for a U.K. Market place, JLR have a global outlook and that's the price the small niche in the domestic market will probably pay. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=loZwcFrQASE

That was my point, I was told there would be no Jag estate (or 4wd...) and also told there would be no D3 commercial, I have one...
So just because someone somewhere has said there won't be a D5 commercial, I wouldn't take that as fact.

This , they lost the overseas working 4x4 market long ago they can compete well in the luxury market so that's what they are going at ..... people who need 4x4's don't buy land rovers ....they are for people who want a 4x4....
