The fact that ford can't be arsed to fit wiper blades from the 21st centry on them shows how little they care.

The only other car that still comes with the old type of wiper blades is the ecosport and at a push the swift oh and the LA ferrari
Seems I'm not the only one who notices this! I see what you mean with the Ecosport, the old style wipers make it look even worse than it already does, hateful car.

However, the European Ka+ does (thankfully) have flatland wipers, makes it look a little less dated than it already is. Strangley several cars in this class have the old style wipers, including the Viva, Picanto and cheap things from Suzuki. Makes me think of cheapness and cost cutting!

That's interesting. So they've fallen out with Fiat then?
The Mk2 Ka was supposed to be replaced by the "Ka+" 2 years ago, but the JV with FIAT was renewed for some reason. Not sure if it was a delay with the production of the new 'un, or a contract issue, but it well outlived its welcome anyway. Ford basically had little access to any information on it, and FIAT were a PITA to help with any technical information, by all accounts I knew of.

This new "Ka+" is essentially a Mk6 5 door fiesta underneath, hence the size. Ford, apparently, don't see a market for a small 3 door car - something I found ridiculous, considering how well the first Ka did in it's 13 or so year run (even when they cocked up and put the 'Endura-E' in it).

It's one of the "one ford" things, and is primarily designed for Brazil/India etc, where cheap cars can be thrown out in low spec for the masses.

Weird, all the ones on AutoTrader have the flat blade wipers.

We drove it yesterday, and take delivery of ours next Tuesday. I was really impressed by it. From my point of view its been well thought out and driver superbly - otherwise we wouldn't have bought one! Just like buying a Fiesta for a couple of grand less, but with a Ka+ badge on the back. Ideal, and hopefully won't have any resale issues like some brands may have.

Now have the Ka+ and rate it highly. My only gripe is that I can't set the display to permanent 'average mpg' - or at least I haven't worked out how to do it yet;). This car has IMHO been thoroughly researched to include many good features, and eliminate the poor ones from the rivals in this price/size sector. I suspect Dacia are going to HAVE to give body coloured bumpers and other features and/or lower the price or lose a lot of sales to Ford.
