If it's a wall safe like the ones in hotel rooms, then I find that quite often things disappear under the lip below the door.

About 6 weeks ago I lost my wedding ring. Searched the house, the car, golf and sports bags - all the usual places I would be when I take ring off. Spent a week looking for it, came clean to my wife it was missing, and she helped look for it too. No joy.

Driving to work I looked at my hand and I was wearing it. Absolutely no idea where I "found" it, but it is back now. Very very weird.

So I suggest get your wife to hide the original key, and eventually you will go to use the car and the keys will magically reappear.

My mate Vince was forever leaving his wedding ring in cricket gloves. On one occasion I thought it was fingertip armour until I took my hand out and I'd gained a ring.
