On a more serious note a lady in the next village from me woke up one Saturday morning to find a car smashed into a tree in her garden. The guy was over the DD limit and went straight on at a bend and hit head on..

He was in the car dead when she found it.
I bet she was stumped. Was it on a trunk road?
Sounds like a job for special branch.
Too true: they would surely have twigged the root cause of the accident.

She didn't hear a car hitting her tree hard enough to kill someone?

She must sleep like the dead.
Big garden and about 03.00 in the morning. She slept blissfully through the whole thing and the car wasn't discovered until she got up that morning.

Just realised what you did there wink

Unsure how something so mundane causes such hilarity but whatever floats your boat.

The one car is still there - it's a £200 mondeo which now has around £2k of damage to it so I presume I'm OK to remove it as it's already worth -£1800

She probably sleeps like my OH who didn't stir while the 777 we were on was bouncing along the runway at LHR after a descent that was 'interesting' enough to cause the smell of vomit to permeate throughout the cabin yuck

Joking aside OP, as you have the names & addresses of the people involved (but no insurance details) I would write to them briefly explaining that you will be claiming for the damage to your property. Ask them to pass the letters to their insurers who should then contact you to resolve the issue.

Don't leaf it too long though chap!

serious suggestion to the OP: have you checked if your household insurance will help you with the claim?

Could a £200 car have any more than £200 worth of damage ?

I've used askmid to get insurance details of a driver before

£4 per enquiry and put as much details about the driver and car in as possible. They'll get back to you within 2 working days.

You could always box it in to stop it being moved without your permission.

I'd hedge your bets and claim of both drivers.
