solutions exist

The transport industry has already spent millions upgrading wagons to make them idiot proof with beacons, klaxons, huge signs on the side stating you're in the "danger zone" and a speaker that sounds "warning, vehicle turning left" yet they're still getting killed.

IMO the blame now lies with cyclists in 99% of cases. They're the most vulnerable users of the road and they should ride accordingly, if you put yourself in a blind spot or depend/expect somebody else to see you its only going to end in tears eventually.

When I was a HGV driver i'll never forget the pizza delivery rider hanging onto the left side curtain straps at 20mph with nothing but a tiny LED light on the front at 10pm, thats what you're up against in that hell hole.

I must have watched that over 30 years ago. I don't remember the film but every so often I see 90 on the speedo and think about breaking wind.

Anyway, why not just make the existing passenger door Perspex. Wouldn't that be a quick and cheap fix for all existing trucks?

And what about left hand drive trucks? Good for domestic haulage I suppose?

Wait until the price of the produce in the supermarkets costs more because they're either delivering late at night so having to pay the drivers more or they'll have to use more vans, but of course banning lorries makes perfect sense rather than educate cyclists!!!

Although I will say deaths have dropped significantly this year as cyclists have worked out they're not beyond reproach & it hurts when they taste tarmac whilst most drivers lookout for cyclists
only in london supermarkets. londoners seem to have money to burn so good luck to em and endlessly voting in mental mayors!
Love a bit of London bashing. They take all our money, our jobs blah blah. And what mayoral candidates do you deem are not 'mental'?
