OH is having an ex pool car foisted on her, choice between these two, is the S-tronic the same thing as the tiptronic in a 996 which would you go for and purely as a hypothetical question as I wouldn't dream of doing it to Co lease car, what is the mapping potential of these.

I think I prefer the se techniky one although I probably fold and unfold my door mirrors about 5 times a day as there are loads of pinch points on the local roads so the manuel might be a better bet

I'd have the blue one.

Auto (S-Tronic)

Better in traffic.... and will accelerate quicker. Gadgets on the Tech model might get used now and then. Auto benefits used every single drive.

Whenever I had to take pool cars over the years I just took the one with the least time left on the lease - so I could get out of it and in to something I wanted as quickly as possible.

Does Technik have nav? Either way I'd take the dual clutch s-tronic over the manual car.

S-Tronic. Aside from simply prefering a manual, I don't know why so many seem to hate VAG DSG boxes. They're great imo.

Think it's around £20/month more tax for the Auto if your OH is a higher rate tax payer based on its higher CO2 and P11d?

I'd still choose the auto, haven't had a manual since 1999.

I always wondered that, as the one we have works fine (reference point is my Merc auto). However apparently there's at least 6 DSG boxes (and that might just be VW?) and they vary a lot.

If OH doesn't really like either, she will be shot of the second one 8 months sooner than the first.
