Next door's Ox is something I've always liked the look of. If not, the Donkey.

Sod all.

£12m to family n stuff, £100m in the bank. Even at 2% interest that's £2m/yr, or £5500/day, you'd struggle to spend that. I'd travel around the world renting everything. Even if you did somehow manage to spend £5500 every single day you'd still wouldn't lose money.
Can't spend it when you're dead!

I'd get out of England as fast as I could (buy private jet of course) but not sure where in the world I could escape much of what I see, smell & hear that has ruined the land of my birth.
Find some sun, buy nice house & noisy open sports car & find useful & interesting stuff to do for myself & for others. Savour love & friendship & avoid laziness indulgence & pre-occupation with self.
I think similar, Tuscany looks appealing.

(I know wink 62 not 56)

Find a decent lawyer. The partner in a top London firm who'll charge £500 per hour but probably save me from myself. Sort it so I couldn't lose it in a financial problem. Find a nice non descript house with a double garage, probably within 10-15 miles of where I live now.

Might peruse Bingo Sports website as well biggrin

TBh. Much as it's nice to own a fleet of cars. I don't see the appeal of having 10 or more cars. You've got to find space for them. And if they are stored at a unit somewhere away from your home. You have to make effort to see them (I think this is Flemkes issue)

1 supercar - Pick from F1, P1, GT2RS

1 Everyday car - M4 probably, maybe Brabus SL

or

1 supermini (Audi A1 Quattro perhaps) Though I guess the BMW, Brabus and this are all a case of choose 1. Probably the BMW

1 Bike (S1000RR biggrin)

I guess as I haven't come from money and aren't anywhere near middle class. I don't have super expensive tastes. An island somewhere or a massive yacht aren't my thing. I remember years ago someone offered me some champagne. First thing I asked was whether the bottle was already opened as it seemed a waste to open it just for 1 drink with me laugh

Forget who said it, but spend your money on experiences, not possessions.

I would probably amass a car collection like this current 450 car one Sotherbys are trying to shift. My tastes change and daily obsessions with cars changes on a daily basis. In fact I'd be cared I'd spend it all on metal.

Something to tour Europe in. Something like a v12 Jaguar XJS. Would have it comprehensively serviced beforehand mind.
Or a Merc w215 CL600 5.5 bi-turbo.

And after I returned, a yacht - big enough to live on, small enough to sail on my own.

What would I buy? Initially not much. I love my house but would prefer it to be a bit further out into the sticks, so that would be pretty high up on my list. Enough land for a decent grass runway. OH I'm sure would want another Landy, and I would probably pick up an XKR convertible. I would also have someone find and restore a 1978 2-door Range Rover in Tuscan Blue for me. Upgrade my PPL to a CPL with IR and buy a Pilatus PC-12 for family hauling, and a Hurricane for me. A small villa in the SoF and a lodge in the Scottish Highlands would be on the list too. I guess I could pay the kids school fees fully in advance for a bit of a discount, not that I would need it then ironically.

I think that is all doable for comfortably less than 12M. The rest invested in various funds for long term steady growth.

The Rt Hon Alan Clark said you aren't rich until you can live on the interest of your interest. £100M invested should produce a comfortable 5% interest giving an annual income of £250,000 gross. hmm, maybe enough to support the above, especially as everything would be owned outright.

Then essentially live the same life I live now, but with less stress, and more expensive wine.

We've both said we wouldn't move as we love our house, but we'd get it decorated and restored to a peerless and tasteful standard. We know how we want it to look but not having to save up would be great.

Give some to family and close friends then work out how to help out not-so-close friends, and where to draw the line.

I'd buy an F40, Testarossa, 1968 Dodge Charger, Alfa Romeo SZ & a Jensen Interceptor and gaze at them all day.

Build a studio so I can indulge my music production, send our daughter to a decent school and indulge the wife. Holiday all over the world and soak up as much experience and culture as possible.

Finally, try and find some causes that make a difference and help them out.

I wouldn't mind a big car collection BUT insurance, tax, MOT etc for 10+ cars would be an annoyance, as well as insurance premiums!

I agree money is a tool, life is about experiences, but money opens doors to those experiences, no?

Tbh I don't know where I'd start

I'm quite happy with my car but I'd probably start a car collection and I wouldn't mind building a modern day castle with a massive underground garage also with a private helipad and a very nice ec120 also wouldn't mind a jetty with a private river with access then out into the rivers and on that jetty would be a nice 38ft boat also i wouldn't mind a lake where I'd have my jet boat and jet skis to have fun on, I'd then follow the f1 around some of the tracks but mainly just have fun treat my wife the way she deserves to be treated and my kids wouldn't want for much

Obviously go on holiday quite a lot

Don't know if I'd quit my job as I quite enjoy it I'd probably just go part time

I'd also like to help the homeless and ex military lads that have been injured and abandoned by the state!
So possibly have a shelter built for the homeless and o think I'd build a load of houses for ex military lads abit like sheltered accommodation but where they're looked after! It rly pisses me off that our ex military lads end up homeless or limbless n abandoned by the country yet treat immigrants like royalty

Sorry bit dark!

Initially, I'd get an order in for a couple of new Range Rovers. One SWB SV Autobiography with the 5.0 Supercharged V8 and one LWD Autobiography TDV8; they'd have quite a bit of (tasteful) personalisation done by the people at SVO, meaning that I'd be waiting a while for delivery.

I'd then put most of my belongings into storage and disappear off to see the world for a while, organising the rest of my affairs along the way. Plans would definitely include houses in multiple countries, with plenty of garage / workshop space for the inevitable "fleet". - One thing I know for sure is that said fleet wouldn't be your average millionaire's toy collection!
