I'd buy about $10 think that's the current conversion rate.

It’s an insane amount of money isn’t it. Other than the usual helping friends and family out and charitable bits and pieces I’d invest portion of it in both commercial and residential property; which would be rented out and hopefully provide a decent income (the interest rate is next to nothing currently), the rest, well it is pointless being the richest man in the graveyard:

Buy this:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/STUNNING-1944-BEECHCRAFT-G...

Which would would end up in a local airport in a Hangar for a bit whilst I did my tail-dragger conversion, bought a reasonable area of land so that I could have a grass runway rolled and cut, build the equivalent of a 3/4 bed detached house, with an adjoining hangar and large garage and workshop.

Once I had enough hours (2000+) in aircraft I’d do my warbird (Spitfire) conversion course just to say that I have done it and investigate the prospect of owning a P-51.

As for cars: -
  • I’d have my current Mustang fully refreshed, this is my daily drive now and would continue to be.
  • Then I’d have a Street Eliminator Mustang (based on a 2006 Mustang GT) built, pointless buying a super car when I can go way faster in a street legal race car.
  • Buy 4x4 pickup of some sort for winter and anything that the Mustang is incapable of doing.
  • Buy something small and 4x4 (probably a big quad) for use around the area of land that I bought and for towing the G17 and any other aircraft I buy in and out of the hangar.
  • A big motorhome and trailer for going racing with and to tow the Street Eliminator car, I’d also need to do my C+E or D+E licence to take it to the track.

It's a crazy amount of money - and unlikely to make you happier just more able to have nicer material things and be able to do more exotic things.

I'd guess given divorce stats of Lotto winners is that it would destroy your marriage.

That aside.
1. I'd want a really nice pad here in the U.K. With a decent amount of land
2. I'd want a big villa big pool but directly on the beach - question is where... probably med and a med Island with a decent airport
3. I'd want a large ski chalet in one of the best resorts in the world.
The above would naturally all be free to use by family and friends

4. Cars
Bentley Blower and actually drive it like that Rock star
Ferrari Daytona
M600 Noble
GL AMG 6.3
Porsche 917k
Ferrari 512 S
Porsche 962
Mazda 767
caterham 620R
Audi S8
Audi RS6 Avant.

Its not that much that I could afford to buy my dream car, McLaren F1, without taking a big chunk out of the winnings. Still think I'd buy the F1, just have to be careful with the rest wink

So I'd have:
F1
Radical RXC for the faster tracks and wet track days
Ultima with the full fat 1000 BHP engine just because it looks pretty mental and has over 1000 BHP
Morgan Aero 8 for the GT role, would be tempted to get a used one as much cheaper and plenty available with very low mileage
Morgan 3 Wheeler, as above, likely go second hand
Keep my XC90 for family duties and towing the track cars
Keep my Indy for sunny track days but get the Indy overhauled with a big power hike with a newer, turbo'd, bigger, bike engine, prob the ZXR. Quite fancy going over 500 BHP per ton with it and I would have done so once funds allowed anyway
Keep the MX-5 but it would get a few upgrades from BBR that I'm currently saving for
Swap the Golf R for a Lotus Evora 410 for my "daily"
R32 Skyline GTR, always wanted one. Would take it via a decent tuner as well, go full max power with the engine and ICE, leave the outside standard
Honda NSX Type R, same as above

I'd send out a load of emails telling people they had won £200,000 and I needed £2000 to release the funds.

Then pay out on the first fifty to take the bait just to mess with people's heads.

For me the first thing I'd do is spend it on some booze.

Then I'd purchase a house of a suitable size http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/prope...

Then I'd get a house in London for weekends away and for family and friends to use when visiting the city http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/prope...

So that's £18.5mil spent, I'll allocate £10mil for furnishing, staff modernising and all the rest.

Then I need a yacht. Or maybe 2 http://www.camperandnicholsons.com/luxury-yachts-f... (I'll try and get mates rates on this one to save some money)

One for racing in the Solent http://www.farryachtsales.com/sales/boat/infiniti-...

Actually I still have loads of money I'll buy a third http://www.yachtworld.com/boats/2011/Black-Pepper-... (I'd buy new though)

So with moorings and paying for races and crew food and drink that's £10mil over the next few years.

So I'm upto £48.5mil, time to buy some cars.

I need the following:

McLaren F1
McLaren F1 GTR Longtail
Porsche 911 GT1
Mercedes CLK AMG GTR
Jaguar XJ220
Lancia delta S4 road car
Metro 6R4
Bugatti type 35
Maserati 250f

And then just somewhere to store them. That should leave me with some money to tick me over for a few years.

Maybe I should buy a ticket!!

How much of an island could you buy?

Are there any islands in the med that would be possible to purchase - and that you declare Independance so that you have your own sovereign state. Invite hookers and coke dealers to create a party Island for the elite.

I know of one for sale if you win. The car, not the island.

Thanks, I forgot to add my plan whilst the houses are being sorted, head to America buy a classic Ferrari https://www.classicdriver.com/en/car/ferrari/212/1... and then travel the country for as long as we want then ship the car home and place in one the living rooms or mount to a wall or ceiling.

Doubtful in the Med but plenty of small countries in Africa that could be had for a small amount of money and funding of a small militia to overthrow and claim leadership of though

God knows why that stunning car has only done 1,600 miles since 1950's... surely Boone thought back then this could be highly collectible. I wonder if those miles were purely accumulated in driving to the garage for annual serving and MOT's?

Maybe that is the pleasure of being super rich running super rare cars as often as possible

I'd buy every single example I could find for sale of an interesting, currently sensibly priced car, say an E46 M3.
Then I'd hoard them all away in a warehouse for 6 months, pay to have the lot detailed, then drip feed into the market at 3x what I paid 'because modern classic innit' wink

I'd continue to do this with progressively worse cars.

I always fall for these- so...

Classics - Elan Sprint dhc , Alfa Duetto , Gordon Keeble, 2CV and 275GTB

Daily - whatever - Macan Diesel would do. OH can have a Mini of some sort, or A3 or whatever

Tourer - Boxster(6 please )

Fun -my Seven(she's a keeper) ; Singer 911 RSR recreation .

Track- a late 70s March 782 BMW F2 car- I may try the odd pootle if I can fit but there's a couple of drivers I would like to support in historic racing . If my investments were doing well we may run to a Lola T70 too and if I won again a Ferrari 512M would do very nicely .

Pretty modest by some standards - but I have 2, 4, 6, 8 and 12 cylinders to choose from and an agony of indecision when I wake up early on a summer weekend as to what I will drive.
