A £50k+ car losing £20k in the first three years would be very strong residuals. Not many cars manage to hold onto >60% of their new value after three years.
Not terrible as a percentage perhaps but a lot to lose on a car in not much time. A golf R/RS etc will lose half of this although I guess they are nearly half the money. It just seems a lot of money for not mo more car than those. I guess the badge plays a big part.
Again, thats not a representative price for an A45. As has been proven by some people who've bought them on here, its easy to buy pretty much the standard car as the standard spec is so high.

Its easy to get circa 10% off, so your £40K is down to £36K. With 3 year old cars making around £25K then you're in to £11K depreciation, which i'd say is broadly in line with an R. An RS is a different kettle of fish and a bit unquantifiable at the min because theres no discounts avail, big waiting lists and thus probably less depreciation.

But then you'd have to really want to drive an RS - a lot of people dont, in the same way as a lot of people no longer want STIs etc - AND be prepared to wait a year...

So you're a fanboy. Not everyone is. Accept it.

This is an open forum where people express their opinions. I think it's an awful car too. I drove a lesser model, and it was just awkward to get in and out of for a 6'2" bloke. But if everything else was perfect, that stupid stuck on screen would be a deal breaker. I buy cars primarily on looks, both in & out, then choose the trim & engine that suits. That Merc just looks silly with the wrinkles down the side, irespective of how fast it it.

At 6ft6 and powerfully built I hop in and out of mine with ease....maybe your struggle was more to do with your user name than your fractionally above average height biggrin

Average male height in the UK is 5ft 9" so I wouldn't call that fractionally larger - not in the sense that you clearly intended it anyway.

/Miserable

Speaking of miserable, a lot of folk seem quite miffed about this car for some reason - tis' a bit weird imo.

I can understand someone complaining that something like an Elise is hard to get in and out of, but a mundane mainstream hatch?! hehe

I am perplexed by the hate for this car you have people slagging it off and they have not driven it

Very strange I do not give flying fox about the tablet on the console

All I care it drives well and to me it is great fun

No Need to be a keyboard warrior now. I'm about 4 stone lighter than when my username was thought up, but you weren't to know that. So fatty I am no more. I struggle with many smaller cars owing to having the seat right back to accomodate the leg length. The A-class is worse than most as this puts my head level or behind with the b-pillar.But thanks for your advice.

If you like it, enjoy it. Just not for me, both in terms of styling or size.

Excellent! beer

Ours has been built and is on its way. Ships to Dublin, then about a week to get it up into the North of Ireland.

Should be with us in a fortnight tops.

Awesome, I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. What colour combo did you go for?

This is the brown interior rarely seen or ordered is my understanding, on a red car I think it looks pretty classy:

Thats a classic combo.

Alfa Romeo would be big into that

Nice to see it on a Mercedes beer

We went for the black interior on the red car, with the "midnight pack" (?) with the black AMG 19s, black splitters front and rear and black rear glass.

We also did the "red seat belt delete", so black ones being fitted.

Did you go for the Garmin Map Pilot?

That is bloody awful. Not just the colour scheme, but the whole layout. Pure comedy.
