Went to the Ignition Festival in Glasgow back in August and sat in this...

...abiding memory apart from the lady on the stand chatting to me about the Abarth Spider (which was nice but nope), so much of the inside of that 595 felt like my 8-year old Panda 100HP. Same/similar controls for climate, etc, seating position and general feeling of being high up. Gear shift was so so, I've always felt the 6-speeder in the Panda to be too long a shift like my old Stilo with the same box. Though that can be improved with just changing the gearknob for something like the Momo I had in said Stilo. Plus the Abarth 500's steering wheel is a straight swap (as are many other bits) into the 100HP.

I paid £2k for my 58-plate Panda and I just struggle with that list price. I know there's a fair few differences between the two cars along with the turbo drive and HP hike but still, I just couldn't justify it.

I would consider one used but the Abarth Punto Evo EsseEsses have been catching my eye a lot more than the 500/595s...

Hi all. I took delivery of an identical 595 Competizione with the performance pack and Beats 3 weeks ago (see pics). Having owned dozens of Alfas and Fiats (not to mention a selection of VWG models such as Golf GTIs and Audi S3s) I have to say the new 595 Comp looks great and is fantastic fun.

Sure, it's not as sophisticated and grown-up as my S3 (currently for sale on here), but it's a laugh, sounds amazing and is far more cool. I drive with the window down (the Monza exhaust makes me) and have literally heard at least three complimentary and admiring comments about the car from teenagers and men alike in as many weeks. You simply don't get this driving a GTI or S3.

As for the alternatives, if it delivers, first choice is always Italian for me. Would I be seen in something German? – yes as a sensible daily driver, but my wife has the sensible German family car leaving me to play with Alfas and the Abarth. Ford, Peugeot, Citroen, Nissan, Renault etc... – sorry, no.

By the way, I purchased mine for under £18,000 (£6,500 below list) as a demo with a couple of 100 miles on the clock! Happy with that!

Welcome to PH that's 3 of us now with the demonstrator on here. Sounds like a brilliant deal you got there.

Like you I have the beats audio but I couldn't say if it's any good as I have the windows down listening to the exhaust crackle and pop.

I quite Like Abarths biggrin

Killed by a bus frown Not my car in the pic as I don't have any.

Sold at 5.5 years old because it had needed NOTHING done to it under warranty and I was getting worried something big was going to go.

Current 595 Yamaha Edition (a special edition at the end of the old model to get rid of them i think lol)

When current one is finished I will likely get another, there is just NOTHING out there even close to the price that has the same grin factor.
The only small hatch I liked more was the AMG45, at £45k its a bit more money, and I knew my next big car was going to be an AMG.

I love the way these things look. I'd definitely have one if I wasn't a)male and b)6ft.

Unfortunately, If I did - this would be me.

I run a Series 3 595C Competizione which is my fourth Abarth.

Abarth has not done much about the plastic door cards and rear panels, which felt nasty to run your fingernails over. So it was time to do something about it.

Whilst refinishing the door cards, I decided to include lamps to illuminate the ground when opening the door. Obviously I had to add a bit of brand identity to the lit area!

LOVE what you have done to the dash, where did you get it from?

A colleague sent me the video of that today. I'm 6'3" and there's a 6'5" PHer with one in readers cars. Loads of room.

Cool little car. I'd have that over a Fiesta or Mini any day of the week.

Those door cards look stunning, did you do them yourself or did you use a company?

I bought mine new in September 17. A 180 Competizione with the performance pack (part leather / Alcantara Carbon backed seat, mechanical LSD & light weight 17” wheels / sticky tyres).

Added loads of options too it including the the £700 carbon fibre dashboard.

Done 4K miles in it since new & love it. Makes for a fun car that also does the daily grind.

It sounds bloody epic too smile

Always see these being driven badly by the same demographic; angry middle aged man with a point to prove. 'Look at me and hear my exhaust'

Maybe I just don't understand the attraction, I see them as a luke warm city car.

And how many special editions do you need?

Coming up to 2 years with mine. Love it. Can’t think of any hot hatch as hilarious at this price point. Would only go to make room for an M2
