Christ, what a strange and fickle bunch talking about 'brand values' and the like. Anyone would think they'd started building MPV's
Makers of the most raw and basic road cars doing a collaboration with the most luxurious high end retailer in the world. Still not the most natural marketing fit you would think of to develop the brand.

I think I'll wait for the Seven 160 special edition with the Poundland colour scheme and graphics that will ensure both ends of the market are adequately catered for.

Just watched the video, bejeezus, what are they smoking down at Crawley now. I might well just pop in and ask as they are nice and local for me and I haven't been in for ages.

So it would at least get you through the door?
Obviously there really isn't such a thing as bad advertising

This is very sad. Get a grip Caterham. Not the brand values I bought into when I had my 7.
Regrettably it's a well trodden path. Amongst the 20,000 special editions of Elise there was a similarly distasteful "Harrods Edition",

I actually quite like the colour TBH. It was the gold wheels that didn't work for me, would have looked good with silver or black.

I'm pretty sure that this is aimed towards the Chinese Luxury market where anything British and hand built is desirable luxury item. Chinese tourists flock to Harrods so it makes perfect sense to affiliate the two brands. I think it is quite a clever bit of marketing and I actually quite like the car, also we are all talking about it it so job done

a few years ago that was languishing at b&c unsold for a while. other cars sold far more quickly.

This Cat looks more like a Morgan inside!
Anyway, calm down guys. you're not the target audience.

The workmanship on that steering wheel is utterly dreadful. I wouldn't let anything leave my place if it was like that.

But 'craftsmanship' aside, I like the colour scheme. Would prefer it without the Harrods logos though.

The price is very silly indeed, but as already mentioned, it's more of a marketing exercise rather than something for traditional owners to purchase.

Now that is a total brand mismatch. Just what has Morgan got to do with modern Selfridges and why on earth would it want its prestigious brand associated with such a tatty emporium to illiteracy and consumer debt of the great unwashed?

Why? I've known Selfridges for 40 years and in the last ten it has manifestly changed away from its traditional customer base. The concept of marrying the modern Selfridges brand to something like Morgan is somewhat incongruous to say the least.

^^ I think it's gold painted. Not plated.

As far as this abomination goes, I think Caterham lost it the moment they dropped the Superlight name. Been downhill from there on.

Customisation has always been part of buying a new Caterham. I had all sorts of things adjusted/deleted/added back when I had my R500 built (it's the Lamborghini Purple one).
