After a little search on here I couldn't find a thread for just the GTi's so thought I'd start one given the recent crazy low lease deals that have now been stopped.

I managed to get in early so have the current deal with CVL,

£2400 down
23 x £95
24 months
5000 miles per anum
7.2p per mile excess

Went for a standard spec in manual and white. Was tempted by the larger discovery system and optional wheels but for the sake of keeping the monthlys low I didn't bother.

Received my SIL number but nothing registered on the tracking site yet, not that I was expecting it to be at this early phase.

First dip in to leasing for me, it will be interesting to here others experiences who are in the same boat.

Back to the waiting.

My deal on a standard 5Dr Golf GTi in white:

£755.02 initial rental (after dealer contribution)
£216.59 x 23 (£4981.57)
TOTAL = £5736.59 = £239.02 a month amortised

on 10k a year mileage with a 10.8p per mile excess.

All prices include VAT

Delivery by end of year.

Likewise, wanted to just get into the car as cheap as possible, hence the bog standard spec but really wish it was a darker colour.

Similarly, my first foray into leasing so hope it goes well.

Now need to look into GAP insurance.

Should have clarified my prices were including VAT.

I opted out of gap insurance, is it comman practice for people to take this? I understand what the product is for, just wondered if many actually ever had to use it?

I guess for most it's a case of rather having and not needing rather than needing and not having if the worst was to happen..

I've also gone for white! I wish it was darker but didn't want to pay for something I wouldn't really benefit from. I have specced the climate comfort windscreen..... I used to have a mondeo and I have missed the benefit on many a frosty Cumbrian morning.

£2400 down
£152 per month
10k miles

Without the heated windscreen it was £141.... I reckon those extra minutes in bed are worth £11 per month.

Amortised to £245 per month

Have my order number but nothing showing... yet

Not as fast as you guys, as needed HQ sign-off. So paying a bit more, but still a good deal I think.

First time we've leased a car. How do I know when deal/delivery is secured? I've signed a contract/paid admin fee etc. Do I need/should I expect anything else?

I also managed to get the original CVL deal in time, but with DSG. Just opted for the standard spec in white as the whole reason I went for the deal was because it was so cheap. Adding options however tempting they were, kind of defeated the point.

Looking forward to seeing how it compares to my current Octavia vRS with DSG which is also on lease!

My first hot hatch also as it comes, my wife did have an Impreza STI hatch once but I class that up there with the super hot hatches such as the latest Focus RS, Golf R and S3.

Depends who you went through. I can only speak for my experience with CVL. Once he paperwork was completed and returned and the admin paid I was emailed the SIL order number for tracking your build on the VW site.

As I understand it once VW receives the order and processes it the tracking site will update and let you know what stage the car is at, which can take weeks.

The current Central deal looks v good (2400 + 23x132 incl vat, I think). But I assume no DSG available on this?

Only 5k miles and more than likely on the new VW excess mileage rate of 10.8ppm.

I ordered a golf first thing on Monday and was watching out due to it been the first day for the new q4 deals. I've gone for a white, 5 door with dsg for £2400 + 23/107.99 inclusive of vat (for 5k/y) with the excess mileage of 7.2ppm (from CVL, cheers Scott!). Amortises to £211 a month which is great value.

The £180 admin fee was paid today and was told a Nov/Dec delivery. It's going to be a long couple of months...

Sounds like I was the only manual chooser. Wasn't due to price, just prefer the involvement of a manual still.

The gallery isn't going to be very diverse from the sounds of it, but as it's been previously said most jumped on the deal due to the low cost. Adding the excess for paint kind of goes against it.

Do all of your totals over two years include the broker fees?

I'm looking at a deal of £6900 (no fees) for a white DSG doing 15k per year - by my calculations it's £600 more than the best deals available on Monday so given the price increase not too bad and still good value.

I went for a manual gearbox too, just prefer it on this type of car.

Initial rental £1,504
Deposit contribution -£750
Monthly rental £216 x 23

£239/month amortised, for 10k miles in white with no options, via Jardine Motors.

I managed to get one on the same deal as the OP. Stuck with manual as well as I have another car that auto and would rather have this as manual. Couldn't turn it down at the price offered . Mine also from CVL dealt with a chap called Owen who has been spot on so far. Got my tracking number and now the wait begins !

Looking forward to having something a little more fun after selling up my Impreza weekend toy. Granted it's no comparison but beats my current diesel shed for the fun factor.

I got in on the original CVL deal as well, white with no options. Deposit paid on Wednesday but still no tracking number as yet. I actually wanted a manual as thought it would suit the car better however they had accidentally put me down for a DSG instead so getting that for no extra cost so can't complain to much I guess.
