I am seriously looking at importing a Sierra from the States but I don't know much about the whole process. Is there anyone out there that can chime in with some wise words, on everything?
22% duty +£1200 ish for shipping plus 20% Vat then SVA ,if under 10years old just MOT and RFL
if you want Diesel it will be star ship mileage or very expensive !!! , you need to find something close to a port too as getting things moved over there isn't cheep. If you use someone like Kingstown they will take care of the paper work and its a simple job if you can get the vehicle to the port they will do the rest..

I would.

Just a pity about the dollar at the minute.

That, is precisely the kind of truck I would love, but cannot in any reason justify owning.

I hope that there is somewhere I can rent one for my next trip to the USA.

Just back from the states and a large percentage of vehicles on the road where trucks. Would have one in a heartbeat if I lived there. Fuel is so cheap it would be rude not too.

I love it and I want one really badly.

I'm guessing they either don't have pedestrian safety laws in the states or they don't apply to trucks. Getting hit by this would be like getting hit by a block of flats at 60mph laugh

From what I understand, the US market for these isn't majorly interested in heavy off roading (but there is plenty of specialist kit you can buy that will make it effective off-road if you want). If you want to go offroading in the US, Jeep is the main player. GMC/Chevy/Fx50s etc are all more geared towards towing, or utility/construction/farm type use.

I would imagine the break over angle is pretty rubbish for one. I can just imagine the mess they would make of a wet field too since they're so heavy.

Unless I needed every single last iota of torque I'd much prefer a 6.6L turbo petrol V8. Closest 6(ish) litre I can think of in petrol terms is the old S600 engine. Might cost more to run but much nicer to be around and worth the hit unless you do phenomenal mileage IMO.
600 odd horsepower and 737lb/ft wasn't it?

Rams after around 2013 are much nicer. I think the Silverado/Sierra is the best looking but they need to make it in aluminum like the f150.

I drove a ram 1500 bighorn recently, it was well put together but the f150 lariat drives a lot nicer.

I wonder if they're allowed to sell it in California?
