The Audi 5 cylinders used in motorsport win it for me. The howling noise of the S1 Quattro, the IMSA 90 GTO, just incredible. They sound amazing from every angle; the exhaust at the rear (or side), a snarling induction noise from the engine and that dramatic whistle of the turbo. Lovely.

In terms of motorbikes, because it's all lovely noise, I love Triumph triples and my T595 Daytona is music to my ears. Benefitting from a barely silenced car, the noise it makes is just heavenly. The rather basic fuel injection is mapped to that exhaust, but it still has a very organic sound to my ears, lots of pop and grumble whereas the modern exhaust sound is a little more sterile and controlled. The triple noise is just lovely. An honourable mention goes to my mates old carb fed GSXR 600 SRAD on a Scorpion can. Sounded amazing, so racey.

Hearing/Feeling this car at Silverstone 2004 was otherworldly. Every upshift pounded your chest and as it passed, it wanted to take your eardrum with it. Just mega.

Probably audi 5pot from the group b rally cars and used in some others, one of the few sounds that makes the hairs on my neck stand up and i've never heard anything come close to it the noise on some vids of it approaching let alone after passing is just amazing i think

the B5 v5 TT audi is a nice sound as well from some of the tuned videos i like this, v10 from audi group as well

For me it has to be the Rally Metro 6R4.
I was lucky enough to see them live on the RAC rally in the dark with Pond and Malcolm Wilson driving (I was a teenager).

But a much more memorable for me was being on track at Lydden Hill in free practice for Rallycross and being passed by a 6R4 at full chat, the sound was incredible and made every panel on my 205 Gti (and my bones) vibrate.
