Dang the Stang is just not that popular. I wonder who they are losing sales to or if their expectations were too high in the first place.

It looks like Camaros aren'nt doing too well either, you can pick a brand new one up with up to $12,000 off MSRP. Quite an interesting article below on how cheap they are right now.

Brand new, 335hp V8 for around £19,000, get me to the US now!

The export sales are nothing compared to domestic sales for the Mustang.

The Mustang was always going to be a niche seller in the UK (if not the US).

Its not a surprise for global sales to be taking a dip - once the initial launch euphoria has subsided.

Maybe they need to revive interest and launch a diesel Mustang for the UK?

Tin hat on and waiting for the flack!
6.7 powerstroke would be interesting tbh and maybe the 4.4 PSA unit out of the Rane Rover as the entry model.

AARRGGHHH!! FFS, after nearly a 6 month wait since I placed the order mine was supposed to be built today.....Jesus Tittyf**ckingchrist. That's it, massive sulk, toys out of pram, red bull cans lobbed at passing powerfully built directors....

If Brits (or anybody else) were actually buying them, Ford would be building them.

There's always lots of heroic chatter on internet forums; then people trot out and buy a diesel Golf or an SUV.

By the power of Google have a read and see that it's selling well - the other month they sold more Mustangs than 911's in Germany!

US domestic sales have dried up hence the week off for the Factory and the price drop on the Camaro

I'd imagine a lot of potential buyers in the UK are holding off until the more favourable tax classifications come into play. It'll have a big impact on resale value that's for sure, especially on the V8s.

I've seen loads in the UK. Every single one of them has been absolutely silent when going past, and driven by a suit. It's shameful, shameful st.

Actually... the 2.3 makes sense.

Same engine as the Focus RS, so same remaps etc possible. Yes this is pistonheads and yes we must all lust after V8's ... but if your stuck in traffic... your stuck in traffic!

Actually tempted to get the 2.3, remap it for day to day use as on the school run at 10mph, doubt im going to worry about my 0-60 time, or how the engine sounds.

You say that, but I've seen maybe 15-20 mustangs and all but 2 have been the v8

I've seen two on my commute between Hartlepool and Bishop Auckland. Couldn't tell you what engines they had, one, an orange number with black alloys, zipped past me racing a Jag XF. I'm going to hazard a guess and say the Mustang driver eventually gave up as they where already at licence loosing speeds when they went past me and they showed no signs of slowing down. I saw the very distinct paint job a few miles up the road doing a rather more sedate, and legal, speed with no jag in sight.

The second one was a very nice dark blue (which I'd seen on the back of a transporter a week or so earlier) in Hartlepool, glimpsed out of a door window at work as it glided past. I wouldn't say no to one in that colour regardless of what's under the bonnet.

A Mustang registered after next April will be £140 tax/yr, not the current 500 odd.

Does anyone know what's the waiting time for one of those in UK?
Looking at autotrader prices are ridiculous for used Mustangs.

They've been on the receiving end of some Internet meme's recently. I can't see that helping sales...

Ive seen quite a few red Mustangs, not knowing seen a 2.3 though. Some I admit I wouldn't be able to tell. But most have had the 5.0 on the front wing and the others may have done too.

I liked the 2.3 I hired in Fl this year. But I agree with Yonex, the UK pricing on them is mental. Given how close the prices are, I don't see any rational reason to buy the 2.3 over the 5.0 in the UK.

All that jazz

^ This. They just don't have the road presence and "aura" that the old skool Mustangs have, plus they sound st. I think owners will quickly get bored of the "mehness" of them and the second hand markets will become flooded and you'll be able to pick them up for £2.50 a piece in 10 years time. I don't seem them appreciating in value like a lot of people here predict; I think the exact opposite will happen. They'd looked damned good when I first saw pics of them but having seen a bunch on the road now they already look very dated imho.
