Disappointed.

Will probably purchase a 4-5 year old example in the near future.

It's a wonder there hasn't been invites from the dealerships to a launch to try and wow purchasers .
Given its not out to next year some time, invites would be a bit premature?

Point 1 - agreed
Point 2 - maybe, subjective
Point 3 - why is someone who buys a 5 series a clueless tosser? And no, I am not a 'clueless tosser', just intrigued by your conclusion.

550i wagon? Has anybody ever seen an F10 550i wagon?
A 550i Touring with xdrive and 4 wheel steer, and without the nanny tech is my ideal configuration. And theoretically possible, but so completely unlikely to ever roll down a uk road. As well as being possibly the fastest depreciating car ever.

Why would you purchase one if you say you're disappointed?

And how do you buy a 5 year old version of a car that hasn't come out yet, in the near future?

The width and length of this is sufficient to make all but the most generously proportioned UK car parking space very cramped.
..doesn't matter - you can all get out then let it park itself.

Just the poor people parked either side that are stuck.. unless they have park assist too!

oh and get some magnetic rubber strips otherwise you'll have scratches all down both sides as they squeeze through.

Don't they share the same platform? If so then yes it is.

"Boring" has become so over used when describing any new car that it has absolutely zero impact.

Were you hoping BMW were going to try and fob people off with a ancient E39 with some gash LED lights stuck all over it?!

FWIW the new G30 looks far better than the old F10 which does look like a car that the designers were afraid to commit to a bold design so made sure it was as conventional as you can get and certainly toned down compared to the last E60 model.

Looks much better than the outgoing model which was pure blandsville.
Sort of agree, but you know that's the M-Sport or whatever. So the SE will look under wheeled.
The SE models always look st(ride nice though), for me I wished they only did the M Sport model because they always look far better.

You can delete the bone crunching M Sport suspension i believe, so you get the best of both...a sharper looking car but with a far more comfortable ride.

Luxury spec. is the answer. The M-Sport looks a bit cheap - the Luxury has gravitas.

I'd quite like it if they went back to the E28 days and had the option of an M5 in the more subtle attire

That's a fair point and subtlety does have its appeal with certain buyers for sure, hence why they offer so many different types of spec now.
