A modern rallycross car will do 0-60mph in 1.9 seconds...
But with what top speed?
They do 0-100mph in 4.7 seconds...so at least 100!
4.7 ....

Is that Top Group C Le Mans cars from the late80/90's?

A modern F1 car does 0-124mph in 4.4 if we are going to quote random race cars.

Sorry a few drinks in me but I like Group B and personally I adore the Group C LeMans cars (I've watched them race never seen live F1)

Great.

It does 185 then.

Despite being the shape of a housebrick.

How come no one has ever made a 307 mph E60 M5. Surely a cheap way to break all records for a road car.

Wow, that is just superb.
Saturday, lashing rain outside. Fire lighting inside, herself watching X-Factor I've that video on you tube headphones on. Hearing the starts engine whilst watching a decidedly drunk Nicole Sherwsingwergerbeerburger on TV is oddly satisfying.

151mph for a 890kg can (can be as low as 820kg) -and well over 500bhp. An e60 M5 with x2the weight derestrocted does 207mph.
A Fiat Coupe 220bhp will do 145mph and that is 1,200kg ish
Heck this weeks shed of he week my old Car also acupra 1.8T 180bjp did 140mph

My E90 330d 231bhp did 160mph in France according to the sat nav GPS. My old C5 RS6 I bottled it at 170mph that had a lot left. (Which has 50+bhp does and well over double the weight)
Weight is almost irrelevant to top speed. Weight effects acceleration. Aerodynamics and power (assuming the car has the gearing) are what what determine top speeds.

And that's the thing it has he power in spades.

To say it can only do 151mph with 500++ bhp yet a Leon Cupra 1.8T shed of he week 180bjp does 140mph civic type R EP3 does 145mph with 197bhp.

This is the key.

Essentially your saying based upon its gearing it can only pull max revs in 1st 2ns. And 3rd the last two gears it doesn't have the power to rev out?

Only on Pistonheads could I find a thread that shoehorns in an argument that with BMW against something as iconic as an S4.

Forgot to add Tony Ponds Rover 827i vitesse 174bhp achieved 146mph I just don't get how a car with >>500bhp and geared to 185mph can only get 6mph more than that commuting vehicle?

I just don't get the comparison between a space frame rally car and a road going car like the McLaren.

They evolve in two totally different universes with totally different purposes and comfort constraints.
