Been thinking of getting an air dryer to use instead of microfibre towels for drying the car between washing and waxing/polishing etc. to reduce contact on the car. The detailing shop I usually use sell a few Metro Vac products, including the little hand-held one, Metro Vac Blaster Sidekick. This is fairly reasonably priced, the two bigger ones are in the £200+ range which seems a lot.

Anyone use the small one or a similar product from another manufacturer? If so then are they suitable to use to dry down the whole car or is that too time consuming or ineffective for that job?

I have a Metro and really like it.

It's more than capable of drying the car reasonably quickly and won't leave streaks if the car has been washed and rinsed properly.

I used compressed air, which is really useful for drying out the nooks and crannies.

I often work with another Pro who showed me his pet dryer...
A large car was completely dried off in no time at all. Powerful enough to do a touches dry on a protected car. The warm air from it really helped too.

I use a generic dog dryer from ebay for c.£50 does the job just fine.

If I was unit based I'd go down the compressed air route.

Quite tempted to go for one of these c 50 quid pet dryers from ebay (if a pro's recommending- then good enough for me). Anyone else using them and are they safe/etc as obviously they look like chinky imports so a bit wary regarding electrical safety. Cheers

There perfectly safe.

I'm going to get a pet dryer after having another go with a one.
I have a compressor and air line in my unit, but these seem better for drying larger areas.
