Great thread. Anyone got anything on old 90s RWD Nissans / Toyotas? 200SXs / Silvias / Skylines / Supras / AE86s etc. Prices have hit overdrive lately and it's always interesting to see adverts of them when they were still in the depreciation / being driven around by normal people stage.

Oh i like playing this game, just been to the costa del sol to indulge in some period frogeye related mag reading bought off ebay.
As I explained (justified) to the missus, the small ads in the back are the icing on the cake.
Autosport launch review of the frogeye from 1958 was especially good. Will post more when less lazy.
Quick review says; 911, DBs, italian exotica and XK120s/150s are the biggest winners since 2000, no surprise really.

It does annoy me that todays classic magazines are focused more and more on the value of the cars, rather then what they are like to drive. Sometimes whole articles just say the history and the value. I know it reflects the market and their (no doubt) increased readership, but shame nonetheless.

Not sure if you meant old Autotraders/Top Marques etc but here's a few snippets of the Nissan sports sections

Awesome, thanks so much for putting those up; Crazy to think that prices in terms of raw numbers are similar now to what they were in '01

Ah, so many memories. I wonder how many of those 200SXs ended their lives with a F&F wing, strectched tyres and embedded sideways in a lamppost?

I remember going with my dad on a test drive one of these in the mid-90s when he was in the process of choosing a new company car. I thought it was absolutely fantastic and was gutted when he didn't get it (reason being that the fuel economy was pretty horrendous).
22 grand in 1995 was quite a lot of money. My parents were living in a nice town in herts in 1995 (and for various reasons which are too boring to explain) I know their house at that time was worth 65,000. They sold it a few years back and it's now worth circa 400k. So relative to a very average house in 1995, the Jeep seems quite dear. I think my dad was driving a Citroen xantia in 1995/1996 which I recall cost him about 14/15k which again I recall was considered a relatively large amount of money for a boggo car which the Jeep was.

Happy memories, used to love Top Marques once a month I believe, how times have changed.
