Looks great for a modern engine, but sounds much, much, much better.
Fair enough on the sound, but it doesn't look like anything!

Indeed, just looks like a lump of plastic with two pipes going into it. Lovely engine, mind.

Utilitarian engine cover, covering internals while acting as an air intake as well. Block heads are still exposed too, on both sides. Lots of cars don't even have the cylinder head exposed.

Why would you like that? It looks like you've taken the back off a mobile phone...

Guessing it's the LS430, so could be for hiding everything in the engine bay. If it's the LS600h, then it's hiding everything including the hybrid electrics (probably messy and lots of wires) so they use a cover.

I like it too, minimalistic but professional, like Lexus.

Indeed. I think it's just the natural end-point of the "cover as much of the engine in plastic as possible" road that manufacturers have been on since the 80s/90s. At some point one of them will have the bright idea of "hey, if we put a hinge at the back of all that plastic and a catch at the front, it'll be much easier to open for access to the engine!" and we'll just end up with two bonnets. biggrin

I love how most people seem to skip the OP's intention and just "post a picture of the engine in a car you like or own"

He gets it.

Quick rule of thumb, sorry cupcakes, but if you can see more plastic than metal under the lid, this thread probably doesn't apply to you.

If it's sheet plastic and you still think it looks good you're on the wrong forum. Find a forum about modern kitchens or Scandinavian furniture.

The Audi RS 5 pot is mostly on display, very unusual for a German car

But the busso has been going since 79! So not really modern it died in 2005 to be replaced with this

Not too bad but no where near as attractive
