which 3 series seems better on paper?

A. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/bmw-318-i-showroom-condi...
B. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BMW-318i-FULL-SERVICE-HI...
theres also a third option - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BMW-3-series-318i-SE-200...
but at 114000 maybe pushing it? I don't know.
The first two have a more outlined history and I know the dealership the first one is located and he works there, very reputable. but the others are clearly cheaper....

Why would you buy any of these cars? They are about as bad as a BMW gets.
cloth seats, zero specification, a terrible engine (10 years ago, wow feels like a long time now, I had a 2006 320i from new for 7 weeks as a courtesy car and it was slow and thirsty, the 318i is even worse) yet still BMW level running costs.
I just don't see the point. They do not offer anything really - the 318i is slow and yet drinks fuel like a much faster car.

You'll get a much newer, better and nicer Mondeo for that sort of money. The last one is an N46 engine which is bad enough - the first two are almost certainly powered by the N43 engine of death. Google N43 engine!
Don't do it. If you must have an E90, a pre 57 plate 320d with the M47 is about the only way to go if you can't run to a 325i or 330i.

As much as I generally dislike jumping on a bandwagon, I'd have to agree with the other poster, the cars you have chosen are hardly the sweet spot in the 3 series range.
Although I won't comment on reliability of the fours, when I think (E9x) 3 series I'm thinking 6 cylinder cars as in my experience the larger engines just make them a far nicer car to use.

Stay away from the 318 s , they re hopelessly underpowered and won t pull the skin off a rice pudding. Don t believe the official fuel economy figures either, they re ridiculously biased and if you do put the foot down the fuel economy really goes up. Heavy cars , underpowered , and you re much better off getting a 6 pot, where the engine has to rev less, is under less strain and when driven correctly , is better on fuel economy.
