If someone is close to me, it means they want to go faster than me.

I just try to let them past at the earliest opportunity.

I particularly give plenty of room to motor bikes.

I don't get this thing about if I'm doing the speed limit, that should be fast enough for others.

More often than not, I get a wave of appreciation.
Is the correct answer (imo)!!

Not in some cases, especially in town which is currently where I do most of my driving. Not all drivers have an appreciation of braking distances, some lack spatial awareness, others are inexperienced or may be distracted but it's not often, based on my observations, that these drivers are driving fast or wish to overtake.

Did I annoy you with my decent driving skills?
No I think he's annoyed because it sounds like you drive like a knob.

You do know this is Pistonheads ? A place for people who like driving.

What makes you want to come here with the attitude you have ? I suggest you spend the half term back on Forza.

Any family car, really. I tend to stick to the speed limit. Crazy, I know!

I also agree that newly-qualified younger women drivers tend to drive very close and would have no hope of stopping if you had to do an emergency brake.

Thats true in the middle of the countryside. I would happily let past anyone who wants to travel faster (not that this happens very often wink)

I get irritated when someone is close to me driving around the city. It means they want to go faster than me, except, I can't actually go any faster because I'm stuck in a rolling queue for the most part. Those people are pricks.

Also the fact that my car is low and the end of my boot is about a foot away from the back of my head, being tailgated is a very unpleasant experience for me (throw in being dazzled by their lights for good measure).

We all like driving.

Some people equate "enjoyable driving" with "driving like a tt". It isn't. You can (and should) do one without the other. Tailgating anybody, regardless of the circumstances, falls into the 2nd category in my opinion.

Literally kissing it? Were there any witness marks? I think I'd be reporting this to police non-emergency.

You need to read his comments on the previous page. He was being the tt, the unfortunate victim behind him probably just had somewhere better to be.

How do you know he had anywhere better to be?

Let's assume he was rushing to see somebody in intensive care;

(a) That is probably not the best state of mind to be driving in
(b) If he HAD to drive and there was no other option he STILL shouldn't have been driving in a way that puts him or others at risk. It's the height of selfishness - "I need to be somewhere PDQ and I dont care how I drive in order to get there!"

The person in front doesn't know why you're tailgating.
Driving like a nob means other people will treat you like a nob.
Drivings sensibly means you won't risk having a crash and you'll probably find somewhere sensible to overtake

In the real world it is bks. i see and get tailgated a lot as do others.

I live in the countryside where cars sitting on a roads with 8 cars sitting behind them, all bunched up together, and there will will always be a tailgater.
