Hi all,

I may have ballsed up slightly. I know they had the 30mph average cameras. I didn't see the new safe zone Siemens ones.

Does anyone know if they're live? All cameras are up and it all looks sign posted so I assume it is. I haven't seen or heard anything I the newspapers or onine., there's only information about the A40 and A316 but hardly anyone talking about the A2.

Are they live?

Everywhere. Kidbrooke turn off all the way to where it turns into a motorway. All exits are covered by cameras toon ( Eltham flyover, Bexleyheath and so on)

Google tells me not to take November as a set in stone, which to me means either before or after.

To be honest I'm more interested in the 21st October, only date I've gone through really quick and though sh*t. So hopefully they weren't live!

And as above, I will find out sooner or later.

I think they go from the black wall tunnel to where the national speed limit starts crayford/dartford turn off going towards the m25 and a bit back from where the first camera started at bexleyheath turn off or even further back to where the 50 zone started all the way to blackwall tunnel, the only signs seem to be about the size of a fag packet near the traps or the odd a4 paper size sign as you join the a2 and the new system is hard to spot all black notice them more at night cos of there led lights but that's only as you pass them, it's a joke that it's not better signed just shows that there money traps, far to say that you should follow the limit but it's a joke and doesn't help traffic on the road, think il just be using cruse control more

I think that as many months have passed since this question was asked the OP already knows whether or not they were caught by the cameras.

I've seen everyone drive carefully since they were put up. Makes me laugh when they still brake for an average speed camera though...cretins!

Gets me worried that all of our road network will end up like this - no where to hide. The monotony will force us in autonomous sofas soon enough.

Just seen this from a link from the OPs speeding thread, the cameras went live on March 1st. They stretch from around Wilmington to the Blackwall tunnel.

It's easy after those ridiculous 30mph average speed ones.

I have to say, dare I, that it's now a relief, that from just down from the M25 to the Blackwall Tunnel is now all 50mph average. The traffic seems to have adjusted to it and it's far more relaxed driving.

Probably helped by the fact that one is normally used to being in the same speed zones on motorways when the lanes are far narrower during road works. Then I don't take too kindly to being stuck with some great multi wheeled 40 tonner inches from my side window for mile after mile.

Does make a mockery of my 400 odd bhp V8, as there seems less and less places to use it's power outside of a racetrack, not that I should.

Last time was coming out of the Blackwall Tunnel heading south on a Friday night. That ended in a pull, a big telling off and luckily just a £100 course.......for road rage.

Moi....

As above, it's a lot easier to manage now they've got rid of the 30mph limit.
