Where is the best place to buy nuts from?
Discussion
I've been reading up on heathy eating and apparently walnuts, brazil nuts and especially almonds are good for your long-term health and wellbeing. Up until recently I've been buying these from Holland and Barrett till I realised that they are rather expensive, and have now discovered a small market stall located on the upper level of the Victoria Centre market in Nottingham selling them loose at a far cheaper price.
So does anyone have a better recommendation for buying these nuts in bulk, preferably 1kg upwards?

Not sure how they compare on price but if you want unsalted the these are good, not stuffed full of peanuts either like the packs from H&B

Cheers for the info guys, never thought about Lidl which might be worth checking out, in the meantime have ordered 1kg of almonds and brazil nuts from Amazon on Prime next day delivery which has saved me a drive into Nottingham. Prices look good at approx £12 per kg.
The nearest Lidl isn't too far away so I might have a drive out in the next few days to see if the sell these loose. Will wash them thoroughly before consuming!
Will also check out the local asian or polish store because they tend to have well priced goods that tend not to be stocked by the larger supermarkets.
Reason for my interest in the almonds is the high protein content and low calories so is useful to nibble on these throughout the day when I'm working out.

Be aware that someone over in F,D & R had the squits after scoffing Lidl self-serve nuts and sold loose rather than packed - i.e. never buy nuts someone else can dip their germ-ridden hands in.
Totally agree, anything that has uncovered food and the public around is a recipe for disaster, was in a hotel in London and went to get some breakfast and there was a crumpled looking old chap coughing his way round the buffet, I asked him if he realised he was spreading his germs all over the food, he just looked at me and carried on, I had cereal.Same with those salad bars in Supermarkets, grim.
I am not especially squeamish about germs but I avoid stuff like that, even at work I had to bk a contractor for coming straight out of the toilet stall without washing his hands then straight into the brew room to use the kettle, dirty bloody animal.
