ive just bought a new tv but just noicted when fitting that it doesnt have a hdmi out to the tv its still a scart lead. I know this sounds strange but i dont have a sky subscription as such im just using the boxes as free air channels. I have the same set up in the lounge but that runs from another sky dish.

is it just a case of changing the boxes over, i have two satelite cables going into the white sky+ box.

I can buy a box from ebay and that way i havent got to try to get this big old scart lead into the wall somehow

thanks

Be warned as Sky are robbers, so if you don't subscribe i don't think the Sky HD box will work as a freesat box or HD recorder. But i may be wrong

You can subscribe to Sky+ only for £10 per month and have all the pause and record features of the digibox, I have, cancelled everything else.

Thanks that's handy to know I'll look into that as the option to record would be good as would pause.

£120 per year to pause and record on a box you already own?

Bin the skybox and get a dedicated humax freesat satellite box instead.
the new ones also have catch up services.

Can that still use this feeds from the sky dish?

Yes it's the same satellite, the same signals

The box will also show the channels you can get rather than having to scroll through an epg of channels that are subscription only.

Why not just put up an aerial? Then get a Freeview/Youview Humax box, there's a bigger range.
